In AUS I went to EBGames, but the guy said since there's no official date yet, no pre-order's can be made.

Pre-order european version?! I don't know how it is in the other european countries, but going to the shop on the release date is the fastest way to get games here. Remember just buying shenmue 2 in the shop cause I didnt want to be the last one to play it again cause I pre-ordered like with part 1. Shenmue 2 was in stock for the whole first month of the release.
On the other side XBox games are always in short supply. If you want that version in Europe then I guess pre-ordering isn't such a bad idea.
