Your room is going to be an important place. Each character you create will have his/her own. The room reflects your character's (or your) mood, likes/dislikes, styles, etc... I'm defenitly going to make mine look as if it was my character's house. Each with a different style. It's important as others will probably go in and check it out, also you'll spend some time in there, so why keep it how it was at the start?

Only one room, that's awesome. I won't have to spend precious meseta decorating one for each character.

Does it also mean you get one PM per account? Or can you have several?

I think you mean one room per character. By no means were all 4 of my rooms the same when I was playing beta. The only thing even shared by one account is the shared box.

As for my room, I intend to load it up with plants like I did in beta. It's nice having something akin to a personal greenhouse as a place to relax.

I thought it'd be cool to have a custom playlist for background music in your room for everyone to hear. I know that there are censorship and memory problems with that though so it's probably a better idea on paper than in use. Just a nice thought.

lol if THAT feature was in, imagine visiting a friend and their custom room track is The Simpsons or Green Acres intro theme that endlessly loops!!!! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

can you imagine trying to have a serious chat while listening to that in their room? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif lol I think I laughed myself silly at the thought! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I'm going to mostly neglect my room till I have eccess meseta at higher levels.
With all this talk about synthesis with your PM, I'd rather spend my $ on better:
weapons/armor (synthesis doesn't sound cheap)
outfit/accessories
THEN my room.

The idea behind this is hopefully I'll be busy out in the field kill'n baddies than spending time in my room (exept for synthesis work). I'd rather hang around the lobbies/towns than spend them in a confined room.
But that's just me.

Smart idea. But a better way to go about it is to not have access to meseta early on. Because early on, you'll be really tempted to sell the drops you find, mostly consisting of synthesis materials. You could sell them for low amounts of meseta, only to find out later that synthesis materials don't sell for cheap, or you can slug it out at the beginning and not worry about it later on. (basic photons sell for maybe 2 meseta, I can't remember exactly, but they cost 200 in the shop. Other elements sell for 25, but you get them for 500 from the NPC. The gap is pretty big here...)

after all what good is all the furnishings if you couldn't show them off? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

From what I've seen in videos, there must be options to change the color scheme in your room. Download the Network of PSU video from the official site and you'll see what I mean. Perhaps different color schemes are yet another thing to spend your meseta on?

Ryoten

Now I see, but about the 'My room' thing, how many can you have? & also how many items can you put in your room & what kind? Like a plasma flat screen tv that you can watch for info about an quest or sales.

Saner
May 27, 2006, 01:33 PM
um only one room of course lol.

I believe all your characters share the same room but I think each character might have their own room.

Thats good news. I thought I had to spend 4x the meseta on each room lol. Anyway about making items in your room, can you like change the name & color of the items you make, or will you be making items that you can find within the game?

Saner
May 27, 2006, 01:48 PM
I doubt you can change their name but there are different color weapons, and synthesis can involve deciding what color a weapon will be and stuff.

the same for Shield Line colors.

Now I really can't wait till the game comes out now. So does anyone wants to give some info on what their room might look like?

For me, I either plan on having a room in the space station or on the planet with the Japan-era going on. Have to have something to do with Sonic in it & some more stuff. I have to see more screen shots of items in the my room area.

Saner
May 27, 2006, 02:25 PM
hey you know that's an interesting dilemma. so far those rooms seem to be located at Guardian's Colony.

but I suppose we can still access them on any planet's city we are on, right? or I guess we have to return to Guardian's Colony to enter them, since if you notice the Rooms have a window and outside we see outerspace. we can't see that if we are on a actual planet's Room, right? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Saner
May 27, 2006, 02:29 PM
you can see the actual dimensions/shpae of the rooms looking at these 3 screens.

they are different appearance-wise but shape wise the rooms are the same so this hints what our rooms are shaped like (which looks like a "U")

the layout is the same, the colors just make them seem different.

it would be complicated to move the bed and stuff since that would mean the quality of the bed's polygons and details would not be a high quality if it was something you could modify. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

no you can't download stuff for use offline.

they completely isolated the offline from the online because they want to reduce any chances of hackers finding a way to give people a bad day online.

this is the same reason why you can't use a offline Extra mode created character online or vice versa, it's a necessary security measure while still providing those fun features online AND offline.

anyways those lava lamps you mentioned are 99.99% more than likely already in the game offline and online for purchase, since a beta tester did buy them for their Room, it's most likely one of the most common accessories for your Room.

Erm, why not? Any new items that are released through a patch would be available both online and offline, unless Sonic Team made it drop only from enemies online and/or only purchasable from shops online. There is no security issue with giving offline mode access to any new items that are released, it doesn't open any opportunity for hackers to get into the online portion of the game. You download the data, it's now on your harddrive, the game reads the new data.

Of course, most new content for a long while will probably already be on the game disc itself, and will merely be "unlocked" (or so I and many others guess), which makes it even less of an issue.

It depends on if other people do it. I'm only really interested in being stylish in any game. So if it becomes a 'big thing', I'm in. I'm sure if I have spare time I'll tinker around. But looking back at FFXI (why do we always go back to FFXI?), I never was a furniture/mog house guy, so I'm not sure how it'll turn out.

Hey what about vehicles? Do they stay in your room or do you carry them around in like a capsul form?

Saner
Jun 6, 2006, 06:32 PM
I believe vehicles are not 'owned', they are simply available during specific missions/areas.

so don't worry, at least it doesn't look like we need to pay meseta to drive them. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Yeah for real, youd think a civilation that mastered laser guns, light swords, and space travel would be above using fossel fuels. Youd think that.

For me, I'm going to have to go with equipment > looks > room. Obviously, I'll want to preform at my best. Then, I'll want to look my best. After that, I'll want to have a neat looking living space.
