PSU Site Update - New Movies and Official Release Date

The official website received a big update today. The JP release date for the PS2/PC versions has been confirmed for August 31st. Also, there seems to be a couple of new movies and updated product/topic listings.

Woo, it's been a while since one of these. I'm a bit out of the loop, but here's the three movies freshly nabbed from the server. At first glance, they seem to just be re-hashes of the older ones (which have now vanished) - but there is a big big bundle of new things in them, or at least in the third re-tooled 'Network Of' video, along with a chance to feature things revealed in the closed beta.

I'm not sure if there's some new bosses in there, or just some oversized regular enemies - have a look at the giant robot gizmo at around 4:16, or the jumbo monster that looks similar to the Hildebear shortly after. Not to mention what looks like a new SUV Weapon - Jumbo Robo-Fists!

Also note that there are new pre-order bonuses for PSU, in order to make up for the delays. All pre-orders (while supplies last of course, the bonuses that is), will come with the Visual Artbook and the MiniSoundtrack CDs that were limited to just the Sega Direct packs. (Source of info can be found on the main site, under topics of discussion)

For those of you importing, make sure you order from a company that usually fulfills pre-order bonuses. Both Play-Asia, and NCSX are reputable for this service, however, NCSX doesn't really deal in PC games...

For me, this means I may as well get my friends to cancel my SegaDirect reservations, I never really wanted the Tshirt in the first place...

By joe, vehicles online! Hoyt daymn. And that 'giganto-punch-o-matic' of an SUV, class! It all happened too quickly, I'll have to run through it several times before I take it all in.

And as for that sword, it superficially looks like an ice photon-tempered GRM faction sword but... it's far more blunt at the hilt and a little wider... hmm... looks a little bland around the centre, maybe it's just a low-res' GRM sword? I'm glad to see that they finally came out with a new update. The news about the release date is also good, even though the possibility for a simultaneous release date is very slim now. Can't wait to get PSU! Haven't had time to check the vids, but plan to do so.

Stuff I noticed in the video:

- Whoever made that trailed LOVED Cut-in Chat.
- S-rank missions exist (who could have guessed?!)
- The humanoid PM that evolved from the angel that evolved from the green orb is.. green as well? Before, we have only been able to see pictures of a red maid PM. Perhaps this relates to its stats, abilities or previous evolutions?

That's what happened to me on my first two attempts. I figured the first time it may have been a combination of factors, the fact that I'm using AOL as a browser and that I was using Download Accelerator Plus. So I switched to IE and turned off DAP, nothing new there... got the same message. On my third attempt I went back to AOL with DAP still disabled and it just, worked?

I have no idea what was the reason behind this... perhaps the site was overloaded, I'm fresh out of ideas here.

You know these trailers, especially the 1st and 3rd one should be hosted on Xbox Live marketplace (they always put up trailers of upcoming games). maybe SOA will take note and reuse the 1st and 3rd trailers for U.S. promotions.

I think alot of poeple would say the same thing about them, the online portion of this game could become a big thing IF sega choses to operate this correctly.

well it depends on how SOA markets this game.

the videos you've seen are primarily directed towards the Japanese public. so SOA might promote the game differently.

E3 was a sad sign that they seemed to rather promote the new Sonic and stuff, when this game could be in fact Sega's and Sonic Team's biggest masterpiece waiting to be unleashed.

Hey that was the video I saw on the screen at e3. Um the Network trailer that is...or rather something like it. So yeah I was wrong the tank did about 3,500 damage, but hell thats still a lot.

All of the PHOTON ARTS are just amazing. Did you see the constant braver sword combo by ethan? Now that was sweet.

I dont think that will happen. PSU isnt even listed on xbox.com as one of their games yet.

its embarassing for a system company to overlook an upcoming title that had been announced ages ago.

well ya the Xbox360 version hadn't been announced until this year, but Microsoft shouldn't be so slow making sure the main websites and stuff have all upcoming games on record.
