Hunters: Great at close quarters combat a class useful for beginning players.
HUmar: Great for those who wish to start out balanced
HUnewearl: Slightly weaker than the HUmar but compensates with high MIND.
HUcast: Strongest out of all classes but lacks movement (EVP)
HUcaseal: Has the highest accuracy for the hunter class and defense.

Ranger: Intermediate players should try handling them as they have great accuracy and defense but lack strength to wield close range weapons.
RAmar: Balanced and has similar statistics to the HUmar.
RAmarl: Higher mind and greater accuracy lacks strength.
RAcast: Strongest out of the ranger class.
RAcaseal: Highest defense out of the ranger class.

Force: For advanced players who would rather support the group rather than fight close.
FOmar: Quick movement is utilized in each of his attacks making him easier to fight at close combat rather than afar.
FOmarl: Balanced unit in the force class.
FOnewm: Has higher strength than a FOnewearl.
FOnewearl: Has high MIND and not someone you would put on the front lines.

If your a beginner I suggest starting with the HUmar if not but want power use the HUcast. Although in the end when they reach a high enough level statistics are not noticed as much.

I would recommend either starting as a HUneweral or a RAmarl, but it's your call.

Well, I suggest practicing with all three types (HU, RA, FO) before you make the final decision.
If you do that, you can decide which you like best.
(Usually not best to judge a FO in its first few levels, though >_>)

Your not the only one here who thinks that.

I agree with Feelmirath. You should play around with different types of characters. Everyone has different play styles.

However, I will point out that without having friends who can lend you items, tech disks, and/or meseta, starting with a FO character off the bat can be difficult -- Fluids and mates can be costly at first, and low level FOs with low level spells can get hit often. Starting with a HU or RA might be a little easier at first, and you will find enough items and meseta along the way to transfer over http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

But that's only based on my experience. Your mileage, of course, may vary.

In all honesty, the only reason why I would start with a HUmar is because of Resta. After you become more experienced I would take a HUcast any other day because they can advance much faster if you know what you're doing.

Just my two cents. or meseta.

a fomarl maybe cause they can melee as well as support(im a fomarl i know)
a ramarl cause of the high atp and ata with good mst
a hunewearl cause they have good mst, atp, and ata and can allow you to view all aspects of the game(supporting like a fomarl but attacking like a humar)
thats my choices

Hmmmm.Intresting.Whats so good about androids?

Automatic HP regeneration if you stand still. Can't be poisoned or paralyzed. Can see traps.

But... to heal, you're much more limited. This can be a problem with bosses.

but at higher lvls there hp regen is faster so no matter how much damage a boss does being able to heal 100-200 hp in a couple of seconds is priceless(ive heard its super fast at lvl 200 am i right)
and newmans arent the strongest(except hunewearl)since she has low tp is easy to recover
and i say being a hucaseal is priceless cause you have high ata and better/faster animations(on some weapons) and can heal fast plus good evasion and defence for those boss fights

Androids can lay down traps (which is ESPECIALLY usefull later on in the game) and they can also see hostile/friendly traps. (OR just traps at all http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif) They have passive HP-regeneration (only when you aren't moving/fighting), but doesn't have MST/TP growth at all nor can they use Techniques. But overall are androids very usefull for a group and excels very much in solo-gaming.
But since they don't can heal themselves, I'd recommend a Human or a Newman as a starting character. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif
HUmar is a great choice. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I agree. FOanything's are hard to start with at first, seeing as how you only have 300 meseta to start off with. When I started using a Force, I used hit and run tactics (melee an enemy, the run away quickly before it hits you.), I conserved almost all of my TP, then once I gathered enough meseta I started with the mono fluids/mates. Do what works best for you. I would suggest using a HUmar or a RAmar until you become familiar with the games, then try using other races.

If I were you I would start off as a hunter. When I got this game I began as a RAcaseal and found it very difficult to handle. A good choice for you is hunter maybe a HUmar or a HUcast if your thing is power, or a HUnewearl is you want to use magic when you fight, or a HUcaseal is you want a bit of a hunter and a bit of a Ranger. Hope this helps! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_cool.gif

I played it before on xbox and got a lvl 33 character and im not a noob so im pretty much a expert (i beat the first boss without healing with a force.Even the boss). But still yet I like the hunters and Force touch of power. So i'll probally make a character of each.Thx you guys.
