Old-School Phantasy Star??

Alrighty....let's say, hypothetically, that Sega decided to take the next PS game back to it's traditional, offline, RPG roots...would you still play it??

The likelihood of a PS5 releasing is about as high as Sonic Team releasing a bug free edition of PSO.

That would be nice but if sega released a new phantasy star they'd probably try to make it pure annoying eye candy like your current FF releases which lack any interest to me. At least they have the phantasy star collection on GBA now.

A new game offline would indeed rock...but might be too unlikely...Sega is basking in the glory of it's online baby for now to care.

And Kemon...to answer your question of who wouldn't play it....I think the newbies who only know PSO might be wary at first...but what this kickass batch of souls around here have shown, anyone can surprise ya!

Well since it seems that the PS series has gotten alot of attention for the online aspects then I would imagine it will stay there for awhile. But I wouldn't doubt that a single player title might be in the works. But of course I wouldn't know. I am more inclined to believe that the future installments of PSO and PS5 might have interactive components with each other. Maybe PS5 is set in the same time frame as some future PSO game and you can download savedd files from your PS5 games and upload them on to PSO. You find certain techniques in the single player game that can be used in the online game. This of course could have been done if the GBA had released a PS game and you could take certain components from that and use them in PSO and vise versa. But of course only speculation.

and why the uploading and downloading? i mean smash bros melee recognises pikmin-savefiles and unlocks a special statuette... pso and ps5 could do that as well (according to this, i hope, anyone would release a decent offline rpg on cube -_-;;).

Hmmmm, very doubtful because it might lure people away from their online cash cow. Granted, there would be psychos without a life (ie: me) who would play BOTH simultaneously, but we would be too few in number to merit risking their user base to a non pay-for-play game.

Still, a PS5 would rock beyond belief, especially if they follow up the ending and have it start with Rika and Chaz, and revolve around their relationship the same way Lucia and Hiro did in Lunar: EB.

Having Chaz and Rika lay there on the grass isn't enough...I say have them battle a real enemy..not the Prodound Darkness, not Dark Force/Falz/phallus, but rather, a real enemy. Like Technology, powermad Tyrants, or some Zio-esque religous freak.

Would I buy it. D*mn skippy. I paid 100 clams for PS4 my senior year of High School, I can still hear my parents screaming at me....

Man I would love an actual PS V. That would be so awesome. Lots of anime cinemas too please like PS 4 but since PS V cold be on DVD then they can animate it instead of just static images.
