How did you come up with your characters name?

I pick names until i get the ID that i want, Ive even had a few characters named single numbers. I have a FOmarl named 1 for whitill and a RAmarl named 7 for pinkal, but the latter corrupted.

Ma Navu - I named him after a song I once heard.

Imakuni - There was an OLD Pokemon Trading Card game for the Gameboy Advance which had a wierd character named Imakuni. I named my character after him.

Garasu - I picked a random word in a Japanese-to-English Dictionary. The word was "Crow," which in Japanese, is "Garasu." (Incidentally, this led me to the definition of Yamigarasu's name; from what I know, it's "Evil Crow" or something to that effect.)

Zandor (I only use this name as my Internet name and characters that I make just for fun) - I was trying to think of a space/fantasy esque name for my avatar on an MMO space shooter that I was testing called parsec.

Zandra (HUnewearl) - Female variation of Zandor and my first pso character

Arawen (HUnewearl) - My friend made this character while he was visiting my house for a weekend, He named it after a character in lord of the rings but spelled it differently. I took over the character as my main character because I liked its section id better than Zandra's section id.

Bluefire (RAcaseal) - I made this character because I wanted it to have a purplenum section id.

Amy D. - thought it sounded good, also follows Suzy with the single-letter last name.

Osiris - Sounded good, but gave me Bluefull.

Mr. Hanz - When I was little I saw an ad with a German bodybuilder named Hanz. It seemed to fit a RAcast.

Flowe - Not too creative (Olga Flow/Flowen), I just needed a Whitill at the time.

Light Biske - I have a friend who's last name is Biske. He made a RAmar named Dark Biske and thought it would be cool if I had the opposite.

Crowe/Soraya - My 2 new characters (HUcast/FOmarl) - both names came from FF tactics advance. Crowe also fit nicely with Flowe and gave me redria, an id I've needed for ages (I always had to use my sister's redria). I must say that these are my 2 most "normal" names of all my char's.

Rhelik - I saw someone in FFXI with the name Relik and thought it was a cool name, so i put my own twist on it (1 letter lol). All of my chars in Guild Wars have this as their last name.

Kunai (FOmar)- Japanese gardening tools turned ninja weapons. Actually i played a game on Sega years ago and one of the characters used weapons called "Kunais of Severe Cold." I cant remember the game for the life of me. I thought the name was cool and the way they looked were cool and it kinda stuck years later. I usually use this name if I play a char that isnt sword-based. Mostly like Healers, Support chars, Mages or Martial Artists.

Gunjin (RAcast)- I dont know if this has any real meaning on anything. I just wanted to play a ranger one day and decided to use the prefix "gun" then just followed it with something that sounded cool "jin." I, obviously, use this name mostly for ranger types.

Mysti (HUcaseal)- Meh i just like the name Misty for a girl and just switched two letters. This is my girl name if i ever feel like playing a girl char. In FFXI (Final Fantasy 11) I was forced to as i played the Mithra. Yeah...theres some interesting stories of moron boys.

Swordrune (HUmar)- Saw a guy in an old MUD I used to play (called Terris) named Runesword. I went to another MUD (Dragonrealms) and that name was taken so i just switched the words and came up with probably my most classic name (used it throughout Ultima Online, Asheron's Call, Dark Age of Camelot, PSO, Guild Wars, etc etc etc). Most of my MMO friends always knew me as this name and I still use it as any warrior-type sword swinger (and depending on the game warriormage/battlemages) i make.

Crion? Just a nick I start using way, way, way back for the Earth 2150 demo. It became my online nick all over before I switch to GrumblyStuff.

Alice? I was playing American McGee's Alice around the time she was made.

My HUcaseal's name is Yamikarasu, taken from Murkrow (The Pokemon). And when I translated that, THAT was dark crow. Is there just no significant translation difference?

Well, apparently, my research was crap. Blergh. I rechecked the name about 5 minutes ago using two different Japanese-to-English. Dictionaries; Garasu means "glass." I don't know how in the world I came up with Crow... @__@

Aurra - My most famous and high-leveled PSO character was named for nothing in particular. I just made it up, I guess.

Simone.EXE - Simone is a name I like, and I made a RAcaseal, hence the .EXE. There's also a joke in one of my stories about it being a RAcaseal operating system programmed by Barubary, the famed PSO hacker of the olden days.

Rilo - The first half of Rilo Kiley, a pretty sweet band. Storywise, though, Rilo is a person who was born in 561 AD, transported to another dimension and turned into a ferret, and then returned to human form in present day. Hence, my HUmar wears a Sonic Knuckle and has a Sato for a mag, two semi-ferretish items.

Tabbi - A slight misspelling of a friend of mine's old roommate, Tabi (Tabitha). I thought it was a great name.

Mousy - Mousy is Sydney Blair's nickname in my story, "Right Between the Eyes." The main character, Alexa, calls her Mousy because she has a pointy nose.

HUcast named Zero: Because at the time I was playing MegaMan Zero 3 at the time and my friends were waiting for me to make my character so I just chose that name.

FOmarl named Raven: The dark purple hair and the white outfit doesn't suit someone like that but I thougt it was an okay name so thats why I chose it.

FOmar named Liech: I wanted something familiar and change around a little.

HUnewearl named Mikella: Played Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and named her after a unit.

HUcaseal named Blace: A name that no has used from what I have heard or looked online.

RAcaseal named Lash: Something that doesn't describe the character at all. With the head that makes it look like she's constantly smiling and causing chaos to unsuspecting enemies.

Jaime - Fairly obvious. I didn't think I'd ever play PSO when I made this, so I just used my name.

Fujiko - Was a name I used in a D&D-style sengoku-era roleplaying game. Totally forgot everyone would think I named it after Lupin the 3rd. Heh.

Hotaru - Was on a Mortal Kombat kick.

Scorpion - Same deal as Hotaru.

Valeria - Just popped into my head for some reason

Monochr0me - Made it up because I wanted a Purplenum.

Kodachr0me - To go with Monochr0me.

Punky! - Because PunkyBrewster doesn't fit

Nobunaga_ - Named after Nobunaga Oda in Samurai Warriors

Iron Chef - Because FOmars are sexeh!

Huntress - Thought it would be a cool name for a HUcaseal.

Kazuma - Was taken from a Sega Saturn fighter called "Galaxy Fight" and after playing online with the name for awhile now, I find out its also from some anime named scryed.

Ciera - Sierra spelled differently.

Homaru - My brother mixed it up with hoahmaru from Samurai Showdown.

Shururos - homage to PS4 Wren (shuren in jp version)

Leafis - I was trying to think of a good force name and thought of a Leaf (mana?) and a Fist (strength?) for some reason, took off the T and got Leafis.

Kritias - Yet to be used name, may eventually end up being one of my PSU extra character names (beast most likely)

Iyatos - This came from someone saying something that made absolutely no sense at one of my summer jobs 2 years ago.

Me and the co-workers joked about it so much that I made a name out of it "E-yea-tose", This is becoming more or less my main online RPG name nowadays as Kazuma is already taken most of the time and I hate adding numbers after a character name in games unless its a robot....Plus it's "original" enough.

Slade - Taken from the anime "Tekkaman" as it was called in the North american dub, followed some pilot in a suit which was like a living being (similar to escaflowne but in space).

There are others but those are the main ones I still use/going to use today.

I have a RAcast! It's name is Gunslinger. I was leafing through old posts and I came across a discussion in which Ian-KunX accurately described RAcasts as "*beep* i r mecha. *beep*" Besides making me giggle, it reminded me of Battletech, so I went through my fiance's BT and Mechwarrior stuff until I found a mech that vaguely resembled a RAcast that I liked the name of.

Dookster (lost mem card) - Well, dookie is poop, but Dookster is what I used. I used this char online for a while. One time I ran into a character named Darkstar, who looked exactly like me. At first glance we appeared to have the same name.
Kahwhoperstyn (lost mem card) - Another name I made up. The correct spelling of this name is Kahwhopperstein.
2%N Wurd Jim (lost mem card) - Inspired by a family guy episode, but since it is white, it is only 2%.
Moon Master (lost mem card) - Inspired by an Aquateen Hunger Force episode.
Mongroin (deleted) - A shortening of the name Mongrotinfasico. One person asked if this was a shortening of Monster Groin. It's not.
Ishmotar.com (corrupted) - Another name I made up, so of course it is not a real website.
*FUGBlTCH (corrupted) - An ugly, ugly RAmarl.
viruise1215 poo (sp?, corrupted) - A random pressing of buttons plus poo at the end = this name.

My only other character name worth mentioning is BOM-Ulysses, BOM stands for Brotherhood of Medion (clan), the character is female and i wanted it to retain Uly, so i was looking through the TV channels one night and saw an anime called Ulysses on Sci - Fi or something, dont know what its about but i liked it.

DAT GUY is my FOnewm, the name was one i made up.

Shething is my HUnewearl and i named her that because she has an eyepatch, is buff, and has green hair, basically she was just horrifying.
