Anyone else think that Hal looks suspiciously like Ulala from space channel five? Also not to mention the fact that Hal is a "very popular reporter for Gurhal Channel 5" Too similar to be chance, and knowing SEGA...

You're right, except Hal is way hotter than Ulala. *nods*

Hey! Don't look at me like that! She's 19! ><

Actually, given all the messages from Hal during the many announcements in the beta, its safe to say that Hal is the PSU personification of Ulala. The attitude, enthusiasm and the general context of the announcements are pretty much the same.

NOw that you mention it she does look a lot like her. Hehe, I wonder if anyone from Sonic Team is paying homage to Space Channel 5.

Actually she reminded me of Lacus Clyne from Gundam Seed (though I haven't seen much of it) because of the whole idol thing, but then again, I never played Space Channel 5. ^ ^;
I wonder what role she's going to play in Story mode.

Would have been nice if she had gone out and done some live reports in the field during the beta.

I can't stand reporters in anything, especially movies. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Hopefully the offline story doesn't turn into Starship Troopers/Xmen1, with some news broadcast updating what's going on in the story every now and then. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/frenchfries.gif

Hal: "This just in, Ethan defeated the dragon boss."

NOL quest again anybody?
I've got this idea that they didn't want to completely beridden of Nol, but then they were like, ZOMG she's a reporter in space! Lets make her like Ulala!
... does anyone think I'm completely wrong?

On Xbox360 maybe we will have a remake of the hardest quest in the game that was only released on the xbox version, Voice Operation.

Yep. Old topic. Been there, done that. Besides, it was already said Hal would be a reporter, much as Ulala was. Sega isn't always known for their creativity. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not.

What? Not creative? Well, granted after its fall from console/game maker to just 3rd party game developer.

I don't think they created Hal for the sake of creativity. Its sort of a homage to the character and the game Space Channel 5. I don't think Sega made the character Hal and was like "ooooh, I hope the fans don't recognize that we designed her after Ulala." They probably did it on purpose.
