I'm not too bothered by duping, because to me it's equivalent to speeding up the progress of the online environment, such as jumping ahead a few months. Through duping, players can obtain maximum stats and all the rare items they want. This is only a time advantage, and can be achieved by a non-cheater.
There are two types of cheating that I hope won't come out. The first is photon efficiencies on weapons. Hopefully there are checks in the game to limit the maximum percentage per attribute, and even one to limit no more than one of each monster attribute per weapon (i.e. hidden 180% on dreamcast, whent he maximum was 60%). The imbalance of weapons with impossible-to-normally-obtain percentages would ruin my battle mode experience, but I guess the damage formula places less emphasis on the photon % ;3.
Finally, I hope that sonic team figured some way to prevent casual users from turning other players into NPCs.
