Will you use Cut-In Chat?

I will cast the lazy vote and say "We'll see."

Who wouldn't want to see my cute face though? ^__^

I wish it would zoom in my rear end when I do the "kiss my ass" emote.

i say yea, i mean i put all the work into getting my character looking right, so why not let others see them close up. BUT!, i wont spam cut-in's. they will be used when apropriate to convey what i am trying to convey

I hope they'd be used with the typical frequency of symbol chats (in non-n00b lobbies), or maybe a little less. I'd be satisfied with that.

I think I can tolerate that. But man, if somebody is spamming some Caseal with a face like, "ahahahaha, I just cut off your ding-dong", I'm seriously gonna cry into my hands.

Are they going to be accompanied by a sound as well? And I wonder if there will be costumization and all that.

I mean, am I going to be able to make those kinds of faces when I'm...ahhh...you know...doing stuff

I think it's just a "wooooosh" sound, but I could be wrong.

ya definitely a major improvement over the PSO smiley feature.

why see some deformed smiley instead of a close up of your character's facial expressions?

On top of the the animated emotes, this feature certainly brings out more personality and feelings into the community. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Honestly I think symbol chat was much more creative, and I will miss its exclusion. If you step outside the box a little, there are more things (http://www.1t1t.com/psobb/xitong/04.htm) you can create with symbol chat than just "deformed smileys."

wow and I thought hieroglyfics never make sense. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

well Im glad they used the pop-up system this time for close up facial expressions, since they look more natural than boxy symbols that take longer to figure out.

There’s only one thing about cut-in-chats that bothers me, there is no more room for creativity. In PSO that’s all I could do when waiting for a challenge mode party to fill up.

I will use them only in the necessary moments.

And i really wish that they make a "cooldown" timer for you to use them, like , you use it once, and have to wait 5 seconds before do it again.

I think it's a great idea. For one thing, yes, it looks cool. PSO has always had a bit of an anime feel to it, and the "speed lines" and face close-up on things like yelling help enhance this flavor in PSU.

Plus it's a good way to add more customization and personality to individuals and their own characters. *Coughs* and for total nerds like me, it's definitely an awesome feature for RPers...

I seem to recall those symbol chat animation/etc. contests being pretty interesting, even though I sucked at making symbols. Still fun to watch though.

Kind of a shame that such a neat little feature could've been abused so much to have to "scale" it back. Players for the lose.

Cut in chat will probably lick balls, but I suppose I'll wait and see. I would've preferred a much more expanded symbol chat system that allowed you to use way more pieces and with plenty of new symbols. I was a freakin' artist when it came to symbol chat. I dare you to find anyone else who can flawlessly make Nick Nolte's mugshot in it!!

Well ok not really, but they do remind me of pokemon xD

Cut in chat will be cool in my opinion aslong as it isnt abused e.g. *bamph "look at me"bamph"why arent you looking?" bamph"ZOMG U SUXXORZ" bamph etc*fisrt noob to do that gets my boot in there ass.

It's already been said that the frequency of sending out Cut-In Chat is not as often as Symbol Chat was. In other words, spam shouldn't be (as much) an issue. I'm just curious how limited the images may be (as they should tie into the current emotion of your char).

Since most of you have played PSO online... You know why chat symbols are around.

Cut-In or nothing at all were probably the options ST had in front of them.

I love it! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif I'm definitely gonna be using it ;D

Maybe they did it to prevent 'adult' creativity on the game and make it more 'safe' for the younger ones. Even though 'adult' symbol chats do not affect me in any way, they do annoy me somehow O_o; Possibly cause when someone uses it, he's usually spamming at the same time -__-; I hate symbol chat spamming... to death >:( -kills anyone who does it- ...

I couldn't get to play PSO online so I didn't see the symbol chat. Sounded pretty cool.

Still, I'll go with the anime flavor of the cut-in chat. Nothing like overexaggerating my character's facial expression to fit something I say! Plus, we can probably do some funny things with it...

i probally will only use cut in chat when something cool happens since it nseems like cut in chat is fairly limited in facil expressions.

I think it's a neat feature that people will be able to use creatively.

That being said I want to encourage you use cut-in chat responsibly. Cut-in chat should be enjoyed in moderation and not by people who may be expierencing spamnancy or taking medication related to believing that people care about what you have to say.

well, I think I have to see what kinds of faces will be available and that there will be options that will match my characters; personalities.

WRONNNNNNG.... read recent news.. Japanese researchers have created a way to record and 'replay' smells.... records smells with 15 sensors... and can replay that smell by mixing 96 chemicals in certain proportions... it could be used for smellovision.... man

just look on any tech site.... including DailyTech... its a couple days old.. or was it just yesterday... whatever.. goodnight

Well if you look at it this way. If you like to roleplay, cut-in will better show your facial expressions or show of hatred better than a triangled face or square like symbol chat.
