Name Your Partner Machinery?

I was wondering if it is possible to name your Partner Machinery. Because your PM has a name in offline mode (PETE), is it possible to name your personal one in online mode?

I think it would be a nice way to personalize your PM and let him work with your character.

For instance, my beast characters name is going to by Lycan (I'm a big werewolf fan), and i thought it would be cool if i could name his PM "MOON".

Indeed, it is. In the PM main menu, there is an option to change its name to whatever you want.

You said it would let you change the PM name to whatever you wanted in the menu, which is nice. However, what do they start off being named as? Are they all "Petes", or as it evolves do they get new names like Mag>Vritra>Soma>Bana w/e, and then you can just change it off that name as you go?

I liked the old mag names, so if they weren't like Pete, Bob, Francis, Maurice etc. I might be inclined to not name it anything new. This might also cut down on the confusion when you're talking about the different types, because we know you can own more then 1 PM. (there ARE different types, right? They better not all be damm micro-maids) Was there any evidence of this in the beta?

I can imagine someone like "Did you bring a BarfButton? We're going to the ruins"
"Oh, no I took Felvertine IV, and as you know Felvertines are better at healing"
"No I didn't! Only yours is named that blah!"
Everyone knew what "kama" was for or if you needed a "Sato" for your FO.

As far as I recall, all PMs start off as Pete, and will keep that name until its owner changes it. As a PM evolves, the only designation is has that changes with evolution is its product number. You start off with the base model GH-101, but that can evolve into GH-201, GH-302, etc.

Unfortunately, there wasn't any evidence I came across suggesting different humanoid evolutions of a PM, but I think it's safe to assume that there will be more than the "Mahoromatic" model. I get the feeling that depending on what stats you raise, not only will it affect your PM's synthesis style and success rate, but it may also have an effect on what humanoid form it evolves into.

there may be... in it's earlier stages. but i have a feeling that all PMs are going to take a humanoid form in their final stage. Because if it is going to gain the ability to fight with you, it must also have the ability to hold weapons and such... i couldn't see a cat holding a sword too well.

i would hope so.. but i haven't seen any other form with the ability to fight along side of you. do you know of any screenshots or videos in which a PM NOT in human form is fighting with you?

I was looking for information on this, but I didnt see anything, but you know how theres mag cells? Are there gonna be PM cells? I could see the potential in those. A PM that was evolved by a PM cell probably could make even rarer stuff. We'd prbably have to wait til like xmas to see the xmas rapukas.
