I plan on importing for ps2 however I still have yet to see any information on how to tackle the monthly fees since they wont except US credit cards.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

For me importing is fun http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif Some people just don't like the hassle of playing a game in Japanese but some people like me actually don't mind, in fact we like it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif If you know hiragana and katakana you can navigate pretty well through everything http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif And you can figure out most of the storyline anyways be seeing XD Not to mention you get to play it before http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Also, I want the special edition stuff from the Japanese version, things I doubt will ever come here : P So yes, I pre-ordered the special edition from play-asia http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

This is just gonna turn into a big importers thread isn't it?

I too actually enjoy playing games in japanese, it helps my learning along and entertains me at the same time.
My Japanese is basic, but I know most kana's, it's just that I have very little knowledge of Kanji's (only about 200)

I'm actually really looking forward to playing with Midori
^_^

That's not the point. Importing can simply be loads of fun if you have any interest at all in the Japanese language or culture. Combining that with gaming simply adds to the experience. Add to that the fact that the Japanese gaming community is quite amazing. I spent almost all my time playing PSO on the JP servers and made great friends there despite knowing very little Japanese.

With the servers not being connected, the incentive to import now is very high. Debating doing the same, despite my conversational Japanese being sort of poor (I agree menus and items and the like are not hard at all to figure out and learn). Hmm.

^ exactly!

It's not that we can't wait. It's moreso we have the option to buy it earlier since most of us have at least semi-decent japanese.

It's fun playing with people halfway across the world, which is why I have to agree that split severs are a kick in the teeth, particularly cause it means I'm gonn actually HAVE to buy the english version if I want to play with my friends here in the U.K.

One way or the other though - Kouyou the beast hunter is gonna be up there online in PSU JP

Precisely http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif it is not a matter of not waiting, its fun~ http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif I also liked playing with Japanese players in earlier PSOs. When my friends weren't on I'd go play in the Japanese servers and I actually played in the Japanese servers for some months when the PSO GC servers weren't connected cause of the exploit that was found. Japanese players are quite fun to play with and practicing another language and actually being able to communicate a bit is quite a rewarding experience http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Recently I've done so in Guild Wars with French players XD Anyways, I'll probably buy the English copy to play with my close close friends over here.
Oh I forgot, I'll be a Newman Force like in PSO and he'll probably be named Rubesahl http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
