How long do you plan to play PSU?

If there's another one of these, don't complain, just throw me a link.

As long as I don't get bored. At that point, I'll take a month or whatever off, and then probably start up again.

Well, that's a thread on how long the game will hold up, I'm asking how long you, as a individual, will play.

I took a 3 years break from PSO, now I'm hooked again.

Plan to play PSU til the servers die though, my goal is to be one of the first to reach the level cap.

On that note, what is the level cap, and will they move it up over time? (Not much point in playing if all your characters are max level...)

Ether

Job level cap is 20, which seems really low since people were getting close to that in beta

Regular level cap is unknown

I read just about every guide/preview for PSU, and I still want to know more.

Like can you weild a cane and a saber at the same time? I plan to make a newman thats skilled in close combat.

No, because they're both right handed weapons. Handguns are left handed though

Edit: also wands/canes are force only

I actually stated that, but then I edited it out because you can wield two sabers at a time. If sabers were only right handed, you wouldn't be able to do that.

I wasn't aware there were forces.

And I qoute, "The classes have been completely abolished."

Twin sabers are a seperate weapon class, like the Musashi in PSO, and cant be seperated

Kasuke

I assume dual daggers are aswell? I thought you could equip whatever in one hand and whatever in the other. Except ofcourse, two-handed weapons like the sword.

Probably untill Halo 3 somehow gets to me and I end up buying it.

Until Lost Planet comes out.
Than I'll go to that for a while...and come back to PSU....for me, I'll just switch on and off between playing it and not.

Kasuke

Zinsian, Halo 3 won't last as long as PSU, you should come back to the community once your done with it.

The only game I might deviate from PSU to play is Final Fantasy XII Versus

LoL True. As of now. Really bored. Waiting for Dead Rising to drop so it can wait me out till PSU.

It depends on a lot of things. The state of cheating, the community, and the release of new content. 5 years is plenty long enough for them to make a whole new Phantasy Star game, and it's time enough for me to completely sick of PSU just as I am currently sick of PSO.

*Crosses fingers and hopes for a true Phantasy Star MMORPG prequal to the original series designed by OverWorks sometime in the next 5 years*

Kasuke

If they make a new Phantasy Star game online, then they should shut down the PSU servers. But, I get the feeling they'll be making offline PS games, and just keep updating PSU for quite awhile.

I'll probably be playing PSU for a LONG time. Possibly until the servers shut down. Or the next Phantasy Star game comes along and PWNs it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Anyone with a good PC/Xbox 360 - I highly suggest Prey. This game is amazing, and it sure beats thinking about PSU all day.

Yeah, I have the demo on the 360 (but i died around 20 min through the demo and had to restart around 15 mn through, so I called it a day). Pretty awesome cinematic feel to it. Refreshing.

At this point I'm planning to play PSU until they take the servers down.

I can't really make this kind of decision before I play the game. Ask again after we've been playing for 3 months or so, we'll be better able to make that kind of decision. I'm guessing I'll be playing for as long as the people I like to play with are playing. It isn't the game so much as it's the company you play with.

Up to this day I still play PSO >_> Since Dreamcast Version 1's release I've spent hours in this game up to BB. For a year though I've stopped playing online and I've played the GC version offline with my level 120+ force http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Anyways the same thing will probably happen with PSU until a new online PS game comes XD I can calm down the online craving by playing GW o.o

Kasuke
Jul 17, 2006, 02:37 PM
Well, hopefully the younger crowd and the majority of the cheaters will filter out over the years, leaving the older, more experienced players playing together in groups. There will undoubtly be people not old enough now to know what PSU is, playing in another five years, and those would be the new crowd.

Garroway has a point. We won't really know until we've played for awhile. It's possible, however unlikely, this game may dissapoint and we won't play half as long as we thought.

Kasuke
Jul 18, 2006, 06:43 PM
Hopefully it won't be. I expect to play til they silence me for knowing to much about the game.
