New Official PSU Site Design and Screenshot Contest

The Official PSU site (http://phantasystaruniverse.jp/) was updated with a new design today centered around the Ethan versus Renvolt picture that has been popping up lately. There also seems to be a news about a beta announcement that will run from July 21 through early August. I'll update this thread as I learn new details.

EDIT: This seems to be a screenshot contest for picking the best picture from closed beta. You have until August 4th to send in your entry. I believe the winner will receive a Quo card.

Sorry guys, I jumped the gun. It is just an announcement for a screenshot contest to pick the best picture from the last closed beta.

It also seems several of the content pages have received minor updates. The technical specifications page has been refined.

I'm not sure if this was said before. On the new site design, it says that of two Soundtracks that are being released, Save This World is the original orchestral score while For Brighter Day is for music other than orchestral stuff. Save This World also appears to have gotten its cover artwork now.

I've never been much into video game soundtracks they sound good while your playing but u can never just sit and listen to it.

I'm able to sit down and listen to FF7's boss music and FF8's battle and boss music. I loved FF7, but couldn't get into FF8 (dunno why that matters).

FF7 and FF8 boss music are some of my favorite videogame music, even though they are just rock/techno songs that sound damn cool.

Oh, I can. It's more or less all I ever listen to. In fact, right now I'm listening to some music from PSU.

On the subject of the soundtracks coming out for PSU, the little blurb for Save This World gives us a little more information on some other performers who will grace this game's soundtrack with their vocals. Aside from Kelli Sae who sang the title track "Save This World," we've got Broadway vocalist Rita Harvey (http://www.ritaharvey.com/) offering her voice to the fans. It's not mentioned which song (or songs) she sings, but I'm willing to bet that if it's not "For Brighter Day," it's probably "With You." Also, there's mention of a group called the Philipses Acoustic Trio. (Not sure about the spelling of that first word, FYI.) I haven't been able to dig up any information on them as of yet, however.

With a little more searching, I was able to find some information on the Philippe Saisse Acoustique Trio (http://www.philippesaisse.com/). (I knew my spelling was going to be wrong for the name.) They are a jazz group comprised of Philippe Saisse (a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, song-writer, etc.), David Finck on bass and Scooter Warner on drums. They've actually worked together with Kelli Sae on multiple occasions in the past.

They made a smimilar mistake in spelling "photon" with the Parum font used on the site. Under the Gurhal technology heading, the word "photon" is spelled "foton." Also, on the main heading of the site (again using the Parum font) that is supposed to read "Phantasy Star Universe Official Website," they spelled "Phantasy" as "Phantast." A simple typo, I guess, considering the T and Y keys are right next to each other.
