Somewhat Dissapointed

I am extremely amazed at the lack of slicers so far in PSU. They have always been my favorite weapon and I'm sad to have not seen them in the weapon data yet. And I realy don't want a hunter and have to make him seem threatening online when wielding a brightly colored fan. It will be hard. Anyone else agree?

Slicers are great but the developers can't add all corners make everyone happy.

I would trade 'Axes' or Crossbows for Slicers.



besides if the demand is high, they might add Slicers as really rare weapons later added online.

heck, PSO didn't even have half this much available from the start.

stuff like CLAWS are now a common type of weapon you can buy and CAREER on. plus now they can be dual wielded too!

I mean vairation as in: For example, there are two force weapons that we know of. I'm hoping that they make many many different types of that weapon like PSO did, along with different animations, different models, unique qualities, and different levels of power, etc. (:

Actually there are three.. The Bow is a Force weapon, too, if I recall correctly..

But, I agree with this thread's original topic: The lack of Slicers is disturbing. They need to program some in immediately, or else there will be rioting. I mean, they've been with us since Phantasy Star II, they can't just pitch them, can they? (Well, yes, they can, but still. Why!?)

Anyways, I think there are possibly things that have yet to be revealed. Maybe slicers are rare now, like Saner said?

Gosh I'm glad slicers are "gone." Can't say gone, cuz we don't know yet. But really, if they make more slicer variations, then I'd be okay. (I mean seriously, all I find is liberators, assassins, and bravemans! UGHHH!!!!)

Perhaps there are some weapon types that you won't have access to until you obtain expert mode. A slicer could concievably be considered a Hu/Ra - Ra/Hu weapon - so they may be "hidden" until players start making those characters. We simply didn't have that chance in the Beta. Has ST released a full and complete weapon-type list yet?

Of course, that's probably just fantasy - and the truth is that slicers weren't very popular in PSO, and ST decided to not impliment them in PSU.

I can't believe people even now think that might be a slicer! it has a vertical stick attached to it 100% vertically. and that stick looks too think and possibly long to be a slicer handle.

I'd assume the weapons shown in the weapons proficiency menu in the beta contains the psu weapons. Half of the ones there weren't even in the beta, meaning it's probably not an 'incomplete list'.

So a throwing type blade has to have a curved handle does it Saner?

If you looks carefully at the PSO design of slicers the handle actually is perfectly straight, whilst the blade curves. Also the handle is surprisingly short, something which is quite odd for a weapon designed after a throwing blade/stick.

I'm sorry to say, but your "argument" against it being a slicer makes, well, not much sense. You're basically making things up. What exactly about the handle (or "stick," as you put it) being attached to it vertically precludes it from being a slicer? And why would they make a force weapon in the shape of a fan? It makes a lot more sense for that to be a slicer, especially considering there's already precedent from PSO for them designing slicers in that way (the Rappy Fan and also one other rare slicer looked very similar).

I'm almost 10% positive theres gonna be at least 10 more weapon types. I read on article on some psu site and i forget which but it said expect every weapon from PSO plus the new additions youve already heard of. Im notcicing alot of people are over reacting with what this game will include! ST made gold with PSO and i would expect platinum with PSU!

Also, if you look at what it says in the guide (http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=2372)on this site, it says its position on the weapon chart from the game makes it look like a left-handed, ranged weapon.

No... those two silver lines are some sort of decorative tassels or something, possibly. They do not connect to some rod out of sight below the picture, like I said. That's the whole weapon. The handle is just big enough to be held with one hand. I don't know how you ever got the impression there was more to the weapon than you can see in that picture, but there isn't. Perhaps if someone can link a more zoomed out shot of the fans, it'd be more plain.

Also, think about it logically. Why would there be that handle right below the fan, with a handguard and everything (obviously designed to be a place to be grasped by a hand), and then a rod beneath it? It'd have to be the most ludicrous weapon design in history. Well, except for perhaps the banana-slicer, but that's just monkeying around. >.>

Yeah if you actually threw the fans and they worked like a slicer i would like that more than what the slicers in pso, would just look kooler lol. But if that the case i cant forsee them being nearly as fast as the ones in pso, you wouldnt be able to attack again untill the fan came back to you.
