"Up to 13,000 users were playing before the beta closed," he reveals. "We need to continue analyzing the feedback from that and build. We are projecting 80,000 users on the final version and basing our testing on this."

*gnaws on pillow* Wheeeeeeeee! They really care about this game and stuff! They are doing a wonderful job! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Phantasy Star Universe is scheduled to release at the end of August in Japan for PC and PlayStation 2, with North American and European releases expected in October and November respectively. The Xbox 360 version, meanwhile, is a little more on the TBC side, with fourth quarter being the best estimate anyone seems to have for all territories right now.

ah ha, so Xbox360 is getting it late.

yup yup. PS2 all the way! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Of course it would be a nice bonus for users to be able to play PSU in this way, particularly after such a long wait. "We took a little time to test and countermeasure the network's stability, which has been one reason for the wait," explains Miyoshi. "The server has to be sustainable and we've spent a lot of time, trying our hardest to address this."

yup yup this is understandable! Magnificent dedication! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

The quotes that stuck out in my mind were:

the team will be aiming to introduce new content simultaneously to the Japanese and western audiences, despite the full Japanese game launching ahead of the western editions
Simultaneously? They have discovered the west! The seperation of content into Japanese and West makes it appear as if EU/US will be connected possibly. I may be reading into this too much, though.

I see PSU as a massive project so we will look to into developing it with follow-ups in the future but I can't be more specific about the plans yet
Follow-ups? Nice! And how he can't discuss THE plans makes it appear as if there are already plans to be discussed.

EDIT: fixed grammatical issue, added thought. [:

Is this for true, or is Kikizo making stuff up? Notice that these words are not a quote, so maybe those words didnt really come out of Miyoshi's mouth. M

aybe Kikizo guessed it would be like this. It's possible, since Miyoshi said that the updates would be delayed for US/EU, that they would come out 2-3 months later, depending on the release dates.

Hm. Now I really want to know if we're gonna get the updates later than JP or at the same time...

I'm more worried about if the 360 is even gonna get updates, but you know me. I'm the guy with the 360 that you all love to hate. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

I have both as well. I am not getting the 360 version, though. Unless they are linked. Then I will. But 360 really is totally getting the shaft....Less people will be playing, going by psox, it won't get as many updates, and it will be released later most likely. Carlo has a very good reason to be worried.

Seriously, Carlo, why not just get the PS2 or PC versions?

To get the pc version, I'd have to pay (for me) around 450-550 dollars.
To play the ps2 version, I'd have to have a ps2 and a tv in my room, both of which I don't have.

Microsoft has a deep wallet.

they should just let people access PSU with a silver account just like FF11. its only fair.

but not only that.

in order to keep Japanese developers and business happy, they should give their servers space to reach the people without Xbox Live fees getting in the way.

in fact, if the Xbox360 version was linked to the other system servers and can be accessed with just a free silver account, I would get the Xbox360 version. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
