View Full Version : 360 and PC/PS2 accounts linked?

Hi. I've just been wondering this for a little while and I don't know if it has been posted yet. (sorry if it has) I was wondering if there may be a possibility of having your PC/PS2 account accessible on the 360 servers. Reason I ask this is because not all my friends will be on the PC/PS2 version and playing on PC was going to be my first choice.

Anyone know?

Again, sorry if this has been asked already.

I dont know, they still don't know if Xbox360 will be linked.

so as it stands, Xbox360 is unlinked until they say otherwise.

and if its unlinked that means they can't access their account on a Xbox360 server. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/watermelon.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/cheese.gif

ya and the earliest statement was that Xbox360 was going to be unlinked.

They are exploring the situation but who knows what kind of deal they will have with Microsoft.

I think they actually said they weren't going to be linked and are now hearing the player feedback on the matter -laughs- Honestly, they're still saying 'they don't know' for two possible reasons: #1 They're still deciding #2 They'll announce they're unlinked near the release date so sales don't go down as much http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif BTW I am in NO WAY discouraging the 360 version or anything similar, I'm just stating a fact which is SOME players preffer going to PC or PS2 if it means playing with friends on those systems. Don't wanna get flamed by a 360 player http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif I myself might end up playing it there for all I know >_>;

Ill get Xbox360 version if its linked to the PC and PS2.

j/k
I think you are probably right. They don't want to discourage us to soon, but they probably already know what they are gonna do.
HOW DARE THEM!

PSU got a lot of good publicity by going "next-gen". I can't see why they would let that turn into bad publicity simply by not updating the servers so, I'm confident they will be just fine.

ya Im helping spread the word on Xbox360 friends list so people get PSU instead of wasting money on FF11. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

I hope they're connected. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif But for now we can only hope. Plus I'd still probably use my keyboard a lot.

FF11 for x360 is connected to PC and PS2's servers. so why not PSU?

FFXI on 360 wasn't all that great of an experience compared to PSO on the original Xbox though. The lack of true voice chat killed the experience for me, and the fact that you can only do private chat with one person didn't really help much either. Being able to talk to all of your party members makes the experience so much better, and I like to get verbally social with people when I play games online, and you can't really do that with keyboard because it's just down to business when you're typing.

So I actually wouldn't mind if the 360 version had its own server with full Xbox Live functionality, just as long as A. I could use my characters on PC and PS2, and B. Sonic Team ran the server and did all the updating themselves.

if the 360 version is isolated, I don't think Sonic Team would look after it. they would already have their hands full for the Japan region and PC and PS2 systems.

but that's the other thing, many X360 expect true voice chat and all that.

gee as if using a keyboard 'is such a hassle', millions FF11 and WoW players have proved that assumption wrong.

... Lots of WoW players voice-chat through Teamspeak and Ventrilo.

I actually prefer typing to voice-chat most of the time, but I can understand why a lot of people would prefer simply talking. After all, it's like asking if you'd rather hold a conversation or write an essay. Okay, it's not exactly like that, but still. =P

ya I understand people have their own preferences in communicating in any game. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

it's just too bad they can't adapt and be comfortable with keyboard chat. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Hypersaxon, you'll probably get wish B, but unless they link the PS2/PC server with the XBox 360 server, you won't be able to use your 360 character on other systems. I think you can, however, use your PS2 character on PC, or vice versa. Since your online characters are saved on the server and PS2 and PC share a server, it makes a lot of sense. I don't remember reading anything that specifically said that you can, but I'm pretty sure you can.

neoistheone, I think you're better off using text chat with a keyboard. Why? Because you need some darn practice.

I prefer not having voice chat, simply because I'm partially deaf. When I played PSO for Xbox at my friend's house with voice chat I couldn't understand anyone. But I can understand that people don't want to have to type "help" or "heal" every time they need it. I hope that PSU allows you to set messages to specific keys, just like when you pressed a direction in PSO. I found those to be extremely useful; it's even faster than voice chat but you can be sure that everyone will see it, even your partially-deaf teammate or players not wearing their headset. But for some bizarre reason Blue Burst didn't have that feature, so I'm kinda worried that PSU might lack it as well.

LoL. Randomly sending messages to people on Xbox LIVE about PSU. Working fine. I got atleast around 20 people who never knew about PSU to reserve it.

Aye, and I'm certain PSOBB US allows you to assign text shortcuts to the function keys.
