IMAGE HERE! (http://www.whats-here.com/images/gallery/original/euphoria.jpg)

Sorry. Compression did kill the pic a little bit.

The image was sort of in my head for a very long time, the general layout. It really took shape after I went to see Cirque du Soleil's Varekai. If you have seen it, then you'd know that it is really Icarus that really shaped up the picture. Originally, this person is naked! But the angle was a bit awkward so he gots himself some clothes!

Is he flying, or falling? I am not sure. It really depends on how you want to see it. I had a few symbolism going on for this picture, the pool like substance is kinda like a deep consciousness. (coming from the song that I was listening to while working on this) The ladder that leads to it is dangerous. I guess this is it, you can fly out, or into your consciousness, in more way than one. Hence, Euphoria.

Hope you enjoy it.

o.o wow, quite beautiful, hmmm, to give some feedback, to me it looks like falling down, but not a -bad- falling down, I see a calm expression, mild surprise even, but definetly not fear, while the ladder rigth there is very impressive, it's not distracting, so in short it works perfectly o.o I could stare at it for quite a while and details still pop up, great work over all http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

At first I thought "he" was a girl...how wrong I was. I think it was the lips and the cheeks that tricked me. But we shall say it was the compression's fault http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif.

I really like the cloudy, rippled texture that surrounds our falling/flying figure. Here's my impression of the pic:

-the golden strands symbolize the Heavens
-our figure is falling from them; the wings sort of give him an angelic look
-the ladder and the descent into the vortex look menacing, in my opinion. A hellish area, so to speak.

At least that's what my brain told me at first glance. Very impressive overall though, it looks like a lot of time went into it, and the title is just the cherry on top. Kudos, keep up the good work!

It is not uncommon for me to draw boys that look like girls. XD Now in my defence, Icarus is sort of a boy character; like, young boy. They usually hold a bit of a androgynous characteristics, no?

My original intention was that viewers will get to interpredate their own meaning/symbolism of the picture. In that sense I guess it is working quite well. Thanks for the replies!

Vertigooooo! Really strong sense of motion. I am being sucked in, onoes (well I am uber-visually-suggestible, I admit). ;O
Yesss, very effective composition; the combination of swirling/concentric elements and radiating elements works beautifully here. I might have gone with slightly less saturated colors around the periphery to draw the eye into the, heh, eye of the vortex, but that's just my personal preference. Good to see s'more arttreats from you. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I've got to say, in a way, it reminds me of the old story about Icarus...he soared too high to the sun, and thus his wings failed him, and he was sent falling. In a way, I can see both analogies in this...

This is quite entertaining, as well as thoughtful. I like it.

That is absolutely fan-smash-stic. So much better even than the preliminary version I saw... the colors, the tones, the cloth... holy crap. Really really good.

I get the impression that he's flying up out of the vortex rather than falling. I think it's the position of his legs. They don't look like they're really limp, but kind of... stanced. Almost. Something. Anyway, I totally <3 it. You should've slapped some trunks on him and submitted it to the swimwear contest, though. XD

Maybe a snorkel and then some fishes huh. Then it'd be a diving picture. XD

I've never really put much into learning about the technical aspects of art, or critiquing of art, but I do know what I like. Navci you did an awesome job on this one. <THUMBS UP>

I love this Navi. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

These are my impressions about this:

The Swirling dark vortex trying to suck the winged boy down much like a tornado, the golden light a promise of escape from the vortex and the ladder with the fiery glow an alternative escape for the boy he rather not take, to abandon his dream of flight to cling to the ladder and avoid falling to the abiss or to fly on his own out of the vortex.

Maybe it's becuase of my particular circumstances, but that is the way I see. Like a child passing to adulthood and refusing the help of it's guardians to make on it's own.

You know when you make good art when you make people think deeply, http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif .

Great work !!

There was this boy with wings for hands, and pretty lips. He was flying one day through the blue vortex and spotted his friend, Mr. Glowytraintracks.

"Very whispy today, Mr. Tracks."

"Yes, yes it is winglipboy."

Hahaha, I am so great.

Anyway, great piccie navi. I have nothing of real interest to say other than to tell you to piccilate more often!

This does remind me of Icarus. But at first it gave me the impression of that infamous tunnel you should avoid when in near death. And the more I stared the more I felt like I was suffering from vertigo -_-

Good stuff nonetheless.
