PSU Site Update - Premiere Discs Are Being Handed Out for Fr

According to translations for the latest site update:

People can pick up a free Premiere Disc by visiting certain stores on August 12th and 13th. This will be your last chance to pick up the disc. Also, supply will be limited.

With the Premiere Disc, you'll be able to play the first chapter of offline mode and online mode. Players will have full access to the character creation screen, but the will be limited in the missions and areas they can play.

That is all I could glean from this week's update.

Yeah but Japan always has things like these for launches of games. Its up to the parent companies in our regions to make these sorts of things happen over here and up until now they have decided its not profitable or part of our cultural makeup or whatnot to release the gamut of collector's items over here in sync with marketing events. Now I *do* wish it were the case that they would do it more often outside of Japan, I certainly agree there.

I'll be at either Akihabara or Shinjuku, I haven't decided yet. Maybe Shinjuku to avoid the nerd rush.

The shops open from 10AM, so it seems this is a promo that is just going to start outside or in the shops. At least it's O-bon so we can have a day off to queue. Mind you the same goes for all the other nerds in Japan.

I'll stake out the store early and if there's no queue forming, I'll come back later. They may spring a raffle on you though, bear that in mind. The store near us did that when they got DS Lites, I had to sit around for 3 hours during a raffle for the console I had to PAY for. Got one in the end, though it was pretty much a 10 to 1 chance of doing so. I don't really consider myself lucky. I agree with you on both counts 100%, Shimarisu. I'm against seeing people pirating the game, even before it comes out myself. It's kinda why for one reason, that PSOv2 PC never made it to America. Pirates edited the demo and such to , which thus in my opinion, is why said PC version never reached the US.

I could go on here, but I don't want to bore you. If anything, I'm a little jealous of you being able to get a Premiere Disc, but I'll live.

I have only a very small chance of coming across one. I have fallen out of touch with my Japanese friends in Japan from DC and GC days. I found some friends in my Guild Wars Alliance actually that have friends and family over there that said they would look into whether or not someone might be able to go. The more I read about a que the less I think it likely to work out, but its really cool that the Alliance came through for me on an attempt. They know I am crazy about PSU. I made topics on the guild and alliance boards about PSU and video links and they all know I'm moving to PSU very soon. I even made some converts, so I have done my part in marketing lol.

I am actually planning a trip that may be around this time.

As I said, a release group will have it and pay for it, the rest of it is in everybody else's hands.
I buying a plane ticket and hotel fee for somthing free.
