I've read here on the forums that since each account has a unique Sega ID, characters can use the same name.

haha, I never Put numbers in my name, unlesss its a log in name, cuz then who cares? but how does this work? you want to party with some one, you add but they have the same name as some one else?? do they both get added or what? can some one tell me how adding to friends/party works?

I'll look out for you 2, and I think i found out how the party thing works, If you ever watched or played the 4 games of .hack, when you want to find people you played with b4 they give you there members address. in PSU you get some kinda card and that lets you call pplz and stuff. your house pet thing can be a party member 2! i tihnk thats kool.

Regardless on how I feel, I got tons of names but those will possibly be in existance just to keep the legacy from game to game.

I also am afraid of my name being taken. I want to be CAST, not sure if I'm gonna be a male or female type yet, but I know the names I want for either. I plan on getting the game at midnight when it comes out at Walmart or something and jetting home to create the character ASAP so I can get online before anyone else takes my name, just in case repeats aren't allowed. Luckily I'm on eastern time so i have a little advantage. Not sure of a PM name yet, although it'll have to be something either very cool or very funny...kind of like the Slavebot idea lol.

My main character will probably be a RAmar named Phaze, since that's been my main character and my trademark class in every version of PSO that I've played. But if it turns out that casts make better rangers than humans and there is no good reason to use a RAmar over a RAcast, then I might make a completely different character, and I'll choose my class after experimenting with all 3 classes while playing as Ethan.

I'll be very unhappy if we're all forced to use different names. Every game that does that has tons of players with silly names just because they couldn't get the name they wanted. When I started WoW it took me half an hour to find a name that I was happy with, and it wasn't my 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or even my 10th choice.

Three names:

RAnewearl will be Ithiriel. Sindarin word meaning "Lady of the Moon."

HUcaseal will be Fuyuta. Compound of the Japanese words Fuyu, meaning "winter," and uta, meaning "song." Together means "Winter's Song."

FOmar will be Kyuu. Short for Kyuuketsuki. Mostly just a nickname I've grown fond of. Pronounced like the letter "Q."

Well, my main two characters, a human and a newman, are currently undecided. Names I currently have for them range from references to EarthBound, Robotech, past characters of my own, and some other junk noone cares about.

The cast and beast are far simpler though. As they're not going to be the ones I play all the time.

Cast: Valkyrie - Simply put, alot of my favorite things reference norse mythology. Namely Valkyries. Such as Valkyrie No Densetsu, Robotech, and so on.

Beast: Cosmo - 'cause everyone likes Kramer.

Human: Axel (My cowboy character) Homage to the guy from Powerstone2.

Hopefully we can have whatever name we like, but id hate to be surrounded by a thousand Sonics or SSJ Gokus like there was in PSO.
