The feature is non-existant in the PS2 version of the game.

I hope this hasn't been posted and answered. I did look around, but didn't find much discussion on it.

So, I'm wondering what everyone's opinions are on how the PS2 version of PSU will handle screenshots. My friend had the idea that maybe each PSU account has an e-mail linked to it from which you can send screenshots to another e-mail, which would be accessable via your computer. Another option would be that the screenshots could be stored on the memory card, but that would be hard to put on a computer without accessories, and take a lot of memory if you're like me and take pictures of everything.

How do you think screenshots will be handled, or will the feature be existant in the PS2 version of PSU?

Three features however will be PC-exclusive: The keyboard support, the option to change the game's visual settings (resolution, number of characters displayed on screen) and the function to take screenshots.

PS2 version doesn't support keyboards? That can't be right can it?

There was no Dreamcast PSO screencapture function. Sad that there isn't a built in screencap function for PS2, but if its that important to you, just buy a video capture card. You can get a decent one for $40-$50

"Screen Shot

For this you need an extra controller, aswell as a VMU with 195 free blocks on it. Plug the 2nd controller in to the 4th socket (D) with the VMU in the 2nd slot of this controller. Get to where you want to take the screen shot, then hit X, Y and Start simultaneously on the 2nd controller. You should now have an image in that VMU"

You will still be able to take screenshots with the PS2 version if you run the game through your pc with a capture device. It won't look as crisp as the pc screenies, but it should still be descent.

Err.. umm.. thinking.. they must mean simply that further keyboard support a la function keys for shortcuts and the like are not supported, but assuredly text input must be. Has to be. With no word select in PSU, half the community would be mutes without keyboard support. Either that or its an outright mistake.

Resolution is obvious. PS2 cant handle a higher setting. Odd about the screenshots though. I'd have thought they could be stored onto the memory card.

I was hoping there would be at least an option to store your screenshots on a memory card. They did it on the DC didn't they? Now, I wonder about the 360's ability for screenshots, since it wasn't mentioned in the article.

PS2 FF11 allowed screenshot capturing feature.

anyways screenshots are rather useless compared to living the moment. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

I had like 90 something screenshots on my playonline account a year ago and they just kind of sat there while I enjoyed the game itself. I looked at them sometimes and it was like wats the point? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

So I quit being a photo collector after that, personal screenies just don't seem to have a point compared to just enjoying the game itself and stuff. they are just there to look at. static and lifeless. that's all. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
