View Full Version : Advice to the newbies of Ep I & II

1. Do not go straight to Ep II. you'll get owned. the only reason why i did get past VR sanctuary was because i was willing to continue warping down and left no stone unturned. trust me, it was a long 3 hours.
2. Olga Flow is very difficult to defeat. do not attempt until at least lvl 36 or higher on normal and you have a v1 rare gun.
3. CAKE is your number 1 priority right now
4. if a lobby is full, do not keep clicking lobby 1 over and over. FSOD
5. photon drops can be exchanged for other things in the Gallon's shop quest. head down the ramp to where the telepipe is and look for hopkins, the guy that lost *weapon* to *boss*
6. in the end its your choice but i decided to remap the buttons back to the DC layout because it just seemed more natural to me.

I only have one thing I can think of right now as advice.
Do not use any materials until you know what stats you want to raise. You do not want to screw this up by eating any mats you find. Newmans and andriods can only consume 150 mats (not including hp mats) and humans can eat 250. If you screw this up you may find yourself with only your 2 lowest stats maxed when you reach level 200. There is no way you will have all stats maxed in this game at 200. With lots of effort from mags and units you might be able to get a few more stats to max. Still even that will be tough because god units are rare as hell.
Scan_Kid's mst may never max because I screwed up on the mats I ate.

*smiles sweetly* Thank you so much for the advice. I was a veteran on PSO v2 (I was level 106...and quite proud of my survival in Ultimate mode) but now I am being forced to start completely over. I had no clue that I can remap the action palette to the Dreamcast version - that will certainly help alot, because I'm having trouble getting used to the GameCube version. And thank you for the material information. I had no clue that we had a maximum number that we can consume. Do you happen to know how many a FOmarl can take, and which stats should I try to max? Oh and right now, I'm leveling up my characters offline before attempting to go online. This way I'll actually be able to have a bit of a challenge before obtaining insanely awesome mags and weapons from my friends.
FOmarls can use 250 mats. All humans can take 250, non-humans take 150. Also, Hit mats no longer exist in the game.

the best chance is to first lvl up 200 and save those mats (you have 3 extra slots for characters, use those extra 600 bank and 90 character item slots!)(ynless its a HP mat)
then find out what still needs to be maxed and use mats and units and mags based upon that.

Not really. I have a Hunny and she handed his ass to him at Lv 34 with a Lockgun. =PPPP
On the other hand, if you use a Force, you may need to wait until Lv 40+. And yeah, v1 rare gun would help.
