SonicTeam have opened a PSU Premiere Disc mini-site (http://phantasystaruniverse.com/premiere/) today with information on the game for those participating in the PS2 preview of the game. Just like with the PC closed beta from a few months ago, this site offers a play guide a well as FAQs and server maintenance announcements to those playing. The servers for this trial version of the game will be open from now until 03:00PM August 28.

Second, FOR BRIGHTER DAY: Phantasy Star Universe OST (http://segadirect.jp/Catalog/ProductDetail.aspx?SKU=0101008-03548&K=psu&O=S&A=N) now has an exact release date: October 12. You can view the tracklist for this three-disc set at the link above. Careful, though. Some of the track names might be spoiler-ish, so don't read them if you're afraid of spoiling a small part of the game.

From the tracklist, however, I've been able to confirm the English spellings of a few locations. Here are some comparisons between what I was originally translating some names as with what they're called on the OST.

Raphon Plains = Raffon Meadow
Lohzenom City = Rozenom City
Melvoa City = Mellvore City
Flowder = Floader
Gallenigalé Canyon = Galenigare Mine

One other thing I wanted to point out: It looks like the composers are making some throwbacks to certain PSO song titles. There's a song on disc 1 called "Growl, From The Wild Sky" (which I assume is De Ragan's theme) which takes its name from the songs "Growl, from the depths of the earth" and "Growl, from the digital haze."

Really nice. It's cool to know some of the real names, and further more, it's nice to hear they added songs for Valentine, Halloween and Christmas again.

Sounds like I'm loving it even more now. The song names do look inviting.

good point but that's what makes it more incredible, ya know? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

very nostalgic similiarities between the classics and PSU, even more so than between the classics and PSO. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Would they happen to do a TrickTrack Tribute?....I mean seirously I think that was the BEST song in PSO

Wish it said "Soundtrack" in the title so I wouldn't have made (another) double-post. :/

All I know is, I'd buy that soundtrack just for the Neudaiz theme.

I wouldnt take that as 100% sure on the names. Some of them seem wrong/unlikely.

Neudaiz is definitely either New Dais or Neu Dais, Dais being the key word in it.

I don't see why it's so increadible - Sega went pretty far out of their way to merge the templates of the two series (PS & PSO) into one totally new game. Expect plenty of references and similarities to both series.

... why? There's no reason they couldn't have made it one word, and since that is Sega Direct, I'd say it's pretty likely those are the official English names.

What's irritating is that this soundtrack is not listed on CD Japan, or anywhere else for that matter, while the first soundtrack is... and Sega Direct isn't an option for us.

ARGH.

Give it time; I'm sure it'll pop up at CDJapan and other import sites soon. I've been keeping an eye on a few different sites, so when a listing does show up on one, I'll post about it.
