View Full Version : Ignore Function?

Sorry if this has already been covered, the forums here don't have a very good search feature.

I wanted to know if there is a blacklist or ignore feature in PSU. When I played PSO on Dreamcast, there was a lot of stupidity and people who would spam symbol chats in lobbies or when they joined games just to annoy you.

I know people can't mail you unless they have your card, but is there a feature for just ignoring what people say and the cut-in chats?

Thanks

I have no clue actually...but yeah though cutin chats might be usefull and cool...they will also be a potental spam fest for idiots who don't play to actually play

they said there is a blacklisting feature.

meaning anyone you blacklist you won't be able to see anything they type, even their cut-in-chats.

but its a double edged sword. if people you blacklisted are in a party you are trying to join, you won't be able to join that party, I heard.

There is definitely an ignore function... in fact, Aero accidently put me on ignore in the beta, and he assumed I was the cool, calm silent type. The realization didn't hit until about three or four days in... was pretty funny.

Ahh thank you. I'm not worried about that though. I mainly played with my friends in PSO and I have a group of friends and another web community I will be primarily playing with, so I don't think I'll have trouble getting games by ignoring people who act completely stupid and annoying in lobbies.

I never understood how someone was able to make friends in PSO http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif I guess I'm not a real social butterfly then or something. I had a few buddies I played with more than others though.

Anyway, that ignore function should come in handy for the 12-year-olds on PSU.

Yeah that's my main reason for wanting PSU, it's PSO with a blacklist function http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif what more could you want?

And Dingo, you played on the xbox version. In no way could the xbox community be nice enough to have more than a handful of friends, no offense. I have xbox live and in no way is that a pretty place to go.

As for the GC version that was different, I was definetly a social butterfly as I never had enough space for all my guild cards http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

There were plenty of cool people on the XBox version. I mean, hell, I was there for a time. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif Seriously, though, there were a whole butt load of idiots. It got to the point where you'd have to rush out of the lobbies if anyone(like my grandparents, for example...) came in while you were playing. What with all the naughty symbols, an' all. They need a kick feature more than an ignore function. There are so many times that I could think of when a kick function would have been nice to have on the DC, GC, and Xbox versions of the game.

kicking wouldn't be good cuz if the party leader wanted to, he could just kick everyone out before the end of a mission @_@

unless they made a vote out option.

Vote out option which is used in many FPSes would be ideal. However, don't you have to be there at the start of missions in PSU and can't join during? Maybe I've misunderstood this part, but that would make it a bit more difficult to group with people you don't like beforehand.

speaking of which. during a mission are you able to close the room so more people can not enter?

sometimes u just want 4 people.

In PSO someone a party of three could just start the quest and no more people woule be able to join.

If i remember the leader can kick people out of teams and/or room.

I think I remember hearing that if you join in while the mission is in progress, you won't get full XP. So, yeah, that would imply that it could be done... I might be remembering completely incorrectly, though.

Blacklisting is similar to of FF11. You can't see what they type. A good thing against spammers from the older games, since we all know it's the older spammers then the influence young ones.

Kick feature would be good because you would only have to worry about having what you said happen if you were playing with assholes. I can deal with that situation because I always create my teams and I don't need to play shady like so many other people do on the previous versions.

I would love to have a kick function added because that would guarantee maximum peace of mind when dealing with annoying people which seems to be about 90% of the PSO community (GC, DC, Xbox) in my opinion.

Good news. I'll probably abuse the hell out of that feature.

Yes there is a blacklist but I'm not sure how it works since I've never used it. Meanwhile, party command/options are really nice. You indeed do have the option to kick or blacklist. You also can transfer leader or end the mission whenever you'd like. You can also invite people from your partner list. It must be noted that these features basically take over previous Guild Card abilities. As in, you can't search for people anymore, nor can you email them from that menu. But you can however see when they're online and email them individually or altogether in the mail menu.

lol http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif see Parn you should talk more often and your team would have found out earlier about it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

but hey how did AERO unblacklist him? does blacklisting keep track of blacklisted people in a list you can toggle?
