I don't know about cheap... but you can't go wrong with an xbox360 controller. That's what i'm gonna play with... depends on whether you reckon £20 is cheap ^_^

You could use either the actual xbox360 controller and DL the drivers from microsoft.com, or you can buy the PC Xbox360 controller that comes with the drivers.. you dont necessarly have to buy the expensive microsoft controller.

when i comes to controllers i only go with the big main manufactures to get them not satisfied with the performance of any other , so i would definatly recomend teh 360 controller

I'm quite content with anything that logitech makes.

ditto, great quality and the battery life on their wireless controllers is incredible. My ps2 wireless controller has been on for 50+ hours on 2 AA batteries.

Those console controllers aren't going to work, you need to have a controller that's designed for PC. You can't just buy a Gamecube controller and plug it in, PCs don't have anywhere you can plug it in.

Look for a PC controller that has a USB connector. The Xbox 360 controller for PC has a USB connector so you can use that on there, plus it's mega comfortable and you can use it on Xbox 360 as well. If you'd rather use something that's more along the lines of the PS dual shock they have plenty of those as well, although I hate the analog placement on those controllers.

Just trust us, the X360 PC controller is the best http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_wink.gif

You can also buy a USB adapter and use a PS2 controller on the PC. I have one and it works fine.

I wouldn't suggest a 360 controller (unless you already have a 360) because they are $40. To me that is a waste since you can get a logitech controller for $20 or the USB adapter for $10.

Eh, I hate PS2 controllers. I have a Saitek controller that's built like the Dual Shock, and those Analogs are a pain for me to use, namely the one on the left side. I always end up pushing it towards the left and crashing into walls.

I'm willing to spend the 40 bucks in order to get the excellent gaming control that the 360 controller provides. But obviously, I already own a 360 as well so it wouldn't phase me that much. My wireless 360 controller is starting to crap out on me every now and then, I'm probably gonna give it to my friend and use the wired controller. I don't sit that far from the TV anyway.
