How hard will it be to figure out how to play JP PSU?

Been out of the PS loop for a while and decided to see what was going on with PSU... Checked some import sites and it comes out the 31st! Obviously I'm excited along with everyone else but I don't understand Japanese in the least bit. Is PSU going to be simple to figure out withou being able to read like PSO was or should I wait for US release?

The online side of things will deffinately be rather simple.
All you'll really need to know are the basic menu's. There's going to be a fair number of us English speaking importers on so if there's any problems you can always ask us.

However the story may be abit of a problem if you have no understanding of japanese. of course there will be translation FaQs for the menu's and maybe even the story on this very site. I reckomend downloading some basic Katakana and Hiragana charts from the net and learning some basics while you play. It'll make life alot easier. But I've made my way through JP games before I knew any japanese so you should be fine.

In the end its all up to you really.

It shouldn't be that difficult. I do hope that learning Japanese basics isn't as difficult as it looks though.

The basics honestly arent that hard. But it does get rather complex as you go into it. Luckily most menu's are done in basic Kana's so it's rather easy to navigate. Often you'll find yourself doing it by memory in the end anyway.

trial and error is the only way to know what you're doing, unless you really know the language.

story-wise you can't understand the complete story details without knowing the language or seeking translations.

The Japan version is yes lmao their talking about importing it from Japan till it's released in the US..
