PrinceBrightstar
Aug 24, 2006, 04:41 PM

i'm picking up PC version, i'm just curious about the PS2 version, and if someone could also do it on PC (like you're sitting 20 ft away and using a controller instead of keyboard)

Like everyone above said there will be a soft keyboard in the game but if your going to be playing this game for awhile on PS2 I don't know why anyone wouldn't just buy a keyboard for $20 or the adapter for $5 to make things alot easier.

I bought a usb adapter to play FFXI and it worked great....for about 10 mins. If I un/replugged it it worked fine...for another 10 mins, and just stopped working randomly. Ended up getting a regular usb KB. I'm not sure if this will be the same case with PSU but I just thought I'd let people know. That you might just be wasting you money http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_mad.gif

It's not like PSO on gamecube where you had to search for hard-to-find adaptors or order one off the internet to let you use a keyboard on your gamecube. PS2 supports USB keyboards which can be found anywhere for very cheap. I will laugh at anyone higher than level 20 who doesn't have a keyboard.

You could get a cheap one from either Gamestop or EB for about $9.99. A friend of mine has one and he said it works fine

You can pretend that your a bad ass that has little use for words. At least until you get a keyboard, then you can annoy everyone by with your constant LOL spam everytime someone says something, because you yourself have nothing interesting to say anyway.

Hate LOL spammers.

Not pointing the finger at anyone here, just ranting.

I'm not sure if they'll use the sony version of the soft keyboard, or have it like the style in PSO.

Yea, USB keyboards are cheap although avoid elitech, after about 8 months of playing FFXI on my PS2 the keyboard malfunctioned...waste of 12 bucks.

I say hehe instead of LOL http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif but I never spam

And I totally forgot the fact that I'd need a keyboard >_> I'll better order it once I have the PS2 and the game, since I'm playing the offline story before I go online.
Damnit, more costs>_>

AngelLight
Aug 25, 2006, 07:22 AM
You could just use voice chat.....Vent/TS for PS; XBox Live for 360; and I know they make headsets for PS2, but I just dont remember the name of the program you use for PS2, but it does exist.

Just out of curiosity, would pretty much any USB keyboard work on the PS2? What about like a wireless MS or Logitech keyboard?

that's like asking how you communicate in FF11 on PS2 version without keyboard.

with the built-in software keyboard, obviously!

this feature has been in PSO games since Dreamcast PSO v1 http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

well blacklist is a harsh punishment.

wouldn't you just boot them from the party? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

I can't keep track of people from just booting, now can I? I blist to identify them and when I hear otherwise afterwards, then I remove them.

It's very possible to get by without a keyboard. I did fine on PSO GC. . . difficult but fine. Whoever said Ventrilo and Teamspeak gets a prize.

There hardly was a time when I wasn't PT leader in any game. The only times I won't be PTL is if the person who is, is very trusting in my book. Being a thf, it's really difficult to find a party just by searching. I'd put my flag up and then start searching for members. If I got asked from someone I PTed with before and I liked their style, I'd stop searching and join. Otherwise I would just form my own.
