I dont even think the Premiere demo is a beta.

How can they complete a game a few days before its Japan release date?

that makes me think its totally ready for PC and PS2. the premiere disc is simply what it is, a demo (no one in fact confirmed that its a 'beta').

Well, everytime I stop by a store whether it be Yodobashi, Bic Camera, Tsutaya, or like a local video game shop, I always have a hard time even finding a poster of PSU. With the exception of Yodobashi next to Yokohama Eki, you can only find a printed A4 sheet about PSU hidden over in the corner somewhere. Usually it just mentions you can reserve your copy of PSU, along with any other upcoming releases.

It doesn't really look like they are pushing a lot of advertising for this game. I'm sure there's a healthy group of fans out there, but I don't really see it. Now Final Fantasy III for DS, there is an abundance of advertisements for this one. I heard them blasting the theme song a block away in Shinjuku earlier today.

Don't get me wrong, I'm quite anxious for the release. Its been ages since I've played video games, but decided to level a little on PSO in preparation for next weeks release.

No I'm saying that they'll announce when they announce it, and theres no need to fret over it. A little off topic. What system do you plan on playing on and what kinda character are you making? I think it'd be cool to pt with the king/queen psu general.

Yes, they can. Not every game gets a big announcement saying that it's gone gold. However, you can take into consideration a recent SEGA announcement to Japanese retailers as proof that the game has already shipped. Remember a few days ago when SEGA told retailers that fines would be imposed and legal actions possibly taken on stores that broke the game's street date? Proof positive that the game has already shipped and is probably sitting in many store's stock rooms right now until this coming Thursday.

huh? I'm gonna make new friends just like I did with PSO.

I made friends in PSO but I didnt take the time to keep in touch with them,
it was never a serious personal bond, I would just befriend ppl online in a game, we would just play together and talk and have fun and stuff like that. at that time I didnt have a computer of my own for internet, so I really didn't wanna ask for their address or something.

If you can't recognize Saner from the bad grammar, overenthusiasm, overuse of emoticons, and general personality, then you shouldn't be playing the game.

As EspioKaos said, there doesn't need to be a huge "CONGRATULATIONS! THIS GAME IS COMPLETE !!" announcement right before the game comes out. I suspect that the game has been complete for months (think around the time of the closed PC beta), and Sonic Team has either been fixing bugs that popped up during the beta(s) or is just trying to get people to build up hype for the game.

That seems to be the case.

Games too close to release for a delay announcement to come. If it was going to get delayed, we would've known by now. And those events that Sega was holding would've been cancelled if they thought there would be a need to delay the game.

PSU is going to be an excllent gmae, despite most peoples efforts' not to roleplay. Much respect to you if you happen to find a tight community knit ( I doubt PSOW is going to be involved ) and you can coincide in this RP environment, yet, I don't think PSU players will want to be more story driver; instead they'll want to get online just for fun and grinding, etc.

If you really need roleplaying moreso than the norm i reccomend WOW. WOW has servers especially for this cause. Out of the blue and of total curiousity: Are you a female or male?

Many games have gone gold while they where in beta. For example, I remember when EQ2 went gold and got a release date for the same week while it was in beta.
