View Full Version : The Floader, it's HP and water

Hi I was wondering about something:

http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=2371

the Floader is able to hover over water. But it does have a HP bar like the other vehicles/mounts, what if the HP bar runs out and you are above like water you normally can't walk on? will you sink or something?

also there is speculation that you can't dismount from the Floader because it doesnt seem to have the 'dismount' icon that the Lunga and Striker tank are speculated to have. (is the circle function even a dismount icon?)

It will be very exciting unlocking the missions that lets us use these vehicles! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

(whisper whisper) no one in the beta has tried the vehicles yet right? I guess the beta didn't have them yet?

That would be pretty interesting to see your character drown GTA3 style.

Heh, I'm sure they found a way to heal your vehicle one way or another http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

What, like your vehicle spontaneously regenerating to full HP after each battle, PSIV-style?

huh? I recall your vehicles don't regenerate HP after battle in PSIV unless you get out of it then choose it again in the item list.

oh no wait the HP DOES regenerates fully after each battle but the special weapons uses don't regenerate. I think you rest at an inn or spaceport squares or something to restore those. never noticed how it worked in PSIV, those vehicles are awesome and powerful!
I like using the normal attack because the background kind of scrolls left or right and it kind of has a neat 3-D feel to it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

but ya for PSU I don't think the vehicles will regenerate or have a means to replenish its HP.

maybe there will be stations/cubes where you can restore is HP maybe but I think the vehicle missions will have alternate ways to complete it even if you lose your vehicle.

I'm sure you'll return to a spaming point, but it would be funny to see that.

Just wear your waterwings and you'll be ok http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Hopefully there won't be any way to repair the vehicles during the mission, MAYBE except if there are vehicular boss fights.

I'd imagine that if your vehicle goes boom you go down with the ship like in PSIV. It just makes sense, though it may be interesting to be able to continue the mission on foot (or "drown GTA3 style").

Exactly from what ive seen Floaders dont seem to be sporting any weapons and ive only seen Ethan riding one. In my opinion there probably just a mode of transport and if you do do fighting on one it will probably be a stage where your evading the whole time while enemies hurl stuff at you etc.

Maybe if it loses all it's hp over water you'll die right there and when you're resurrected the vehicle will come back too? I dunno how dying in PSU works, heh heh.

Maybe the 'dismount' button is temporarily disabled because you can't use it over water. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

ya even if the Floader has no weapons, it does have a HP gauge for a reason.

it may encounter perhaps something like projectile-based enemies during travel.

If you crash, then you die... mission failed?

EtherForce

I dunno, do you fail the mission if you die?

It'd be one hell of a raise if your machine is blown up and you with it. I don't know how those missions work.

I'd figure that, or you start over while everyone else is ahead.

in one of the online Floader videos I think I noticed an explosion, not sure if an enemy was attacking or if it was due to a collision.

It'd be fun to go through a gauntlet of traps and cannons in a competition against other people. Maybe it'd be some kind of little "neccesary" mini game where the winner just gets bragging rights or a little extra meseta? That'd be cool if you ask me.

Like a mini to get rares if you finish in a certain time.

I noticed that in the video that shows people riding the flowder that there is some kind of bombs floating in the water that would explode as people passed them.

I thought I saw in one of the trailers/battle scenes that there were explosions on the water while Ethan was flying over it
