Well i had the american FF11 and I had to input a US/CA address for registration but it accepted my credit card and UK address for payment. According to Square Enix i Live at the Toronto Maple Leaves Ice Arena LOL.

Dont know about PSU though, probably same kind of system.

Bedfordshire - I'm waiting for the EU version because there are 2 players in my house and we already have 2 UK PS2s on the network (we played Monster Hunter).

Are you talking about the PC version? I don't know how easy it is to setup a US PS2 online in the UK. For a UK PS2, you have to register with Sony and they post a registration key to you - post as in 'send a piece of paper', not online. Might be awkward with a US PS2.

Well if your ps2's are on the network you should be able to get a UK version Of swap magic and play the american version of PS2 without modding your machine, my friend is doing that atm with his PS2 and a copy of PSU Jap.

ShadowNeo

I have absolutely zero knowledge whatsoever.

But a good friend of mine is doing it too, and I have the cash to justify it, so it'll be a good laugh and we'll still have some fun.

Mmmm fair enough http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif, jus my friends will prolly go for the US too, and i think playing the japanese wouldn't match up to the excitement of a version i understand, but when i got the US i'd know everything and i reckon it would ruin the experience of the game ^__^ but hats off to ya and gl with it http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm importing the JP and US versions of the game... hopefully the US server will be my home if the card details work out ... fingers crossed, eh?

Oh, and hertforshire here... both uni and home. And i'm roping one of my housemates into the game, as well as my brother. So more UK players for the cause.

Shall be fun! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

**remember to use either "JP" or "Japanese" instead http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif **

I'm in Lancashire too, but I'm still up in arms over what version to get, let alone whether or not I'm going to import :S

Athough at the mo, the PC US version looks most likely. Otherwise it's the UK 360 version (boo)

Well I probably don't count because although I'm from Sheffield, England I actually live in New Jersey, USA.

But if I can help any fellow Brits out importing I'll be glad to. Hell $60 is only about 30 quid right now so it's not even expensive to import the US version! That's what I would do if I still lived in the UK.

Nah to american Importing, Canadian Importing is the win. two and a half canadian dollars to the pound.

http://www.dvdboxoffice.com

It has free worldwide delivery as well but ill probably use play asia if they ship the US PC version.

PadTheMad whats your msn messenger or yahoo messenger address? Im from Accrington/blackburn Lol.

Yeah but isn't Canadian dollars woth about $2 Canadian to $1.30 US? I notice Canadians pay more in dollars than the US cover prices of magazines and things. Prettyu sure Canadian prices will work out slightly more when converted to pounds.

PSU on PS2 = $49.99 US = about 25 quid (the pound sign is not on US keyboards and the fools call the hash symbol (#) pound!).

Fleece
Aug 31, 2006, 03:44 PM
you get 2 american dollars to the pound

you get 2.5 canadian dollars to the pound

parabolee
Aug 31, 2006, 05:41 PM
Yes but a Canadian dollar is worth less that's why. For instace magazines that are $8.99 US are $13.99 canadian. So just because you get more Canadian dollars doesn't mean it's cheaper.

for instance the US version is pobably $49.99 (which you can usually find for $44.99) but migt even be $39.99. If you check the gamestop site you will see that a lot of PS2 games come out at $39.99 in the US and from the link you gave the canadian version is $61.95. So I think the US version works out slightly less. but either way buying from Canada dosn't work out much better at all.

Don't get me wrong though Canada is way better than America in most ways http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Fleece
Aug 31, 2006, 05:52 PM
Yeah but that canadian site has free shipping to anywhere in the world. so still cheaper http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Middlesbrough *is shot*

I'll be likely importing the US release, unless it's stated that the UK will get a release around the same time, in which case I'll just wait for the UK release.

Hertfordshire here. Gonna Be playing the US Version.

I hate playing EU Versions of MMORPG's most of them suck alot. I also lack the patience to wait for it lol

And i'm roping one of my housemates into the game, as well as my brother. So more UK players for the cause.

Yep SeraphZero's my Bro. Gonna be bringing in some more people from College and old MMO friends to play aswell.

When the time comes and anyone from UK needs a party give me a buzz - add my msn

You people fail at maths, the canadian dollar is worth less, so things work out cheaper if you buy it from canada

http://www.xe.com

$62.95 CAD = £29.9063 GBP

I live in ireland and I'm importing it from dvdboxoffice too :3

parabolee
Sep 1, 2006, 10:53 AM
No you fail at math dude! LOL

The Canadian dollar is worth less as you say so you get less for it (thats why the game costs more at $62 rather than 49.99). So as the US dollar is worth $2 to £1 then the US version is -

$49.99 = £25 GBP

Or to use your own link (which by the way isn't using math it's using a calculator!) -

50.00 USD = 26.2653 GBP

So the US version works out cheaper! But with the free shipping it may work out about the same.

Yeah it would be crazy to seperate the UK from the US. Although they did that with the Xbox version of PSO.

LOL yeah i used to do that with a hangover but id got to the point on PSO on DC and GC and then on PC that i managed to do the Mine part of TTF blindfolded. I was playing with a gay couple LOL they were talking dirty to each other so i decided to close my eyes and just play LOL. You'll be amazed what you can do when you HAVE to.

No offense to homosexual people but i really DIDNT want to know about the stuff they were saying.
