View Full Version : Will U.S.A. face the same problems Japan is having with PSU?

C'mon SOA! Make sure to order and setup more servers ready before the game releases here! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

also, SOJ should relay all reported issues, and solutions to SOA so the same problems won't happen here. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

well it seems like a rough start but don't worry things will get better. Things like this always happen with games like these when they start out. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Hi, Saner.

I think that SOA will use the same program that SOJ uses, so all bugs in the servers will be fixed. All sega would have to gdo is just change the language on the server into english. Not that hard.

i think it will be the same but just less problems

Number of Account signups on day 1

Japan - 100,000
US - 200

The way I see it is that we really can't determine if these problems might happen or not. If they do however, it's not that big of a deal. This is why they have set days for weekly maintainence right?

Yeah it won't be a problem if SoA and SoJ work together or share recources, and Ether, your probably right about the amount of account signups. Well unless PSU somehow gets super hyped and a TON of good reviews.

On another note, I thought we destroyed Saner along with the profound darkness, then to fill the void I was created... Version 2.

It won't really bother me if the game has a few bugs at release over here, so long as they're fixed in a timely manner. I don't think we'll have to worry, though... I guess that's one of the advantages of Japan getting the game first.

(On a side note, how messed up is this --> http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_bondage.gif? I was just checking out the smiley thing and noticed it... Wow.)

I totally expect the same kinds of issues, but I'm not worried about it. You people must be living in a bubble or something. There hasn't been an online game in the history of mankind that went online without any problems.

I think we'll have a lot less problem then the jp. In that fact it's good we get it 2 months later, at least the problems will have been worked out (or the biggest ones, of that).

I've never had a problem finding any game on launch day.

I don't think we will have the same problems the Japanese are having now. I think that's why they haven't announced a release date for the game outside of Japan.

The NA version has always been improved before being shipped, remember PSO eps1&2 version 1.1? JP versions of games are usually comparable to extended betas before being released over-seas lol When monster Hunter was released in the US it had Dual Swords which were NOT released in the jp version as another example. They may get the first build, but we will usually get a Solid one while they usually have to get a re-released version. Squenix is notorious for this.

There will still be a lot of gliches reguardless of whether they fix the JP version problems or not.

i don't think sega would be that retarded to repeat the same mistakes with body swaping and dupeing and lock of servers. everything should be shipped and in tip top shape for NA release

I trust it'll be fine by the time it comes out in America, and Ether's post does make alot of sense.
And why doesn't ANYONE EVER consider EU grrrrrrr

It may not be the exact same problems, but you'd be pretty naive to think the US version will roll out with no problems.

There's bound to be problems. I would imagine that it we'll face less glitches when PSU his stateside, but something's bound to happen. So be aware, don't get too attached to your characters if you get it at launch. I'll be playing Story Mode first.

Agreed, as much as I hope there isn't, there's bound to be some kind of problem(s) when the US version comes out.

I'm sure there'll be problems, but the bulk of them will probably be caught by the Japanese before the game comes here.

Guys this is Sonic Team we are talking about. With regards to anything related to PSO/U there is bound to be issues because they can't help but have issues with a game that took them millions of man hours to complete. I can recall with the very first PSO came out on the DC and people complained about not being able to connect.

In a perfect world there will not be any issues, but since this isn't a perfect world, I would prepare for the worse.

thats my estimate.

Exactly, if people think this is bad then wait until something like "The World" in .hack//sign comes into existence. Rather then character swaping players will go into seizures or have their entire soul absorbed into the game itself! That'll be the day.

Quite optimistic are we?

Japan : 100000
US : -100

wtf negative?!

Anyways, I doubt the US release will see the same mistakes, however we might forsee different glitches instead.

It'll be fine,

the only thing I'm really concerned about is SOA's dedication to X360 servers and if they'll just put up a blind eye towards it if the playerbase isn't profitable enough.

I'm not sure how many people where playing when GCN version first launched but when I started about 4 months later at first it was an average of 1k people a day but the numbers got lower and lower as the months went by due to all the cheating and people getting bored of the same gameplay since Dreamcast. I heard in the first few months of release the numbers were alot higher.

I exspect at the least 20k-60k people on the US servers this time around considering the Japanese numbers and the game being made for PS2 and PC this time around. Consoles that have much wider audience then GCN.

wonder how SOA will handle things. Is SOJ in anyway overlooking how SOA handles servers and stuff? or SOJ not really watch ove them?

Ffuzzy-Logik
Sep 4, 2006, 01:31 PM
No, we won't have the smae problems the JP servers have, since those will be fixed by the time we get it. We will, however, almost certainly have other problems, nothing is perfect.

Saner
Sep 4, 2006, 03:53 PM
hmmmm. well probably the problems will be similiar in not being able to log in. that's if they dont have enough servers and stuff.

but ya they'll fix what needs to be fixed. they have to. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif
