Its very different from pso, I dont really see how they can be compared except for the fighting system. It is better though.

I'll put it this way. Phantasy Star Online is like Phantasy Star Universe for old people. PSO feels slow, clunky, and boring after playing PSU. Since the servers have been down, I fired up PSO for old times sake and tried it, and promptly shut it off within moments of entering Central Control.

Compared to PSO this game is a 10/10 imo. Everything has been improved upon and its so much fun. Just like one of the above posters I went back and tried to play ep 1&2 for nostalgic reasons but didnt take long before I shut it off and got back to PSU lol.

I havn't been online yet but I have to say that anyone who liked PSos will love PSU (based on the offline).

And to people who say they can't be compared! WTF! If PSU can't be compared to PSO then no game can be compared to another.

PSU is a LOT like PSO in a great many ways, far more than just the battle system. It has also evolved in many ways too and from what I can tell all for the better. There are a few small things that are less than perfect but for the most part PSU looks to be everything that PS fans have been wanting since V2 came out (and a lot more).

I personally can not wait for the English language version because every other game I am looking forward to pails in comparison to PSU.
