Will this cause a later US release?

Any thoughts on wether or not this JPN problem will cause them to hold back on an Oct release date for the us?

Hard to say. Theoretically they might not have to change anything from the US build, and simply send out patches to everyone when the time comes. If they even need to patch the clients at all--it could be purely a server issue.

aaaah hopefully they don't delay it. if its not in October there will be very few things to play in the meantime. and even that won't be enough.

This is why Sega never officially announced a US date. I'd be surprised if this didn't cause at least a delay into November

I wish the US would atleast get some sort of demo, even if just of Story mode like they did with FFXII, or if we got premiere disks then that would be awesome (yet we all know the chances of our own premiere disks popping up are slim to none...)

Lol i want to say i hope it is delayed but thats only cause i just spent a hell lot of money importing the JP copy.

They shouldnt delay the game. Just going online with it. I still want to play the story mode. That shouldnt be having any problems like online mode does.

There's no reason for this to cause a delay. They're not going to change the client-side software any more. It will ship and then you will have to download a patch before you can play online, the same as it was with FFXI.

And for those of us who play FFXI on our PS2s, we have the HD and have no problems moving save files over when we desire to download all the latest PSU update goodness to our memory cards.

I'm wondering if a patch is even neccesary. If it is, it won't be more than a few KB for changed protocols and crap. Most of the problems are server side and I imagine SoA will be using the updated version that SoJ will have.
