Doesn't that number seem a little low to you?

How many modems has nintendo shipped?

I know a lot of people can't get on because of connection problems but less than 1k still seems low. I guess it might seem low because we can't play with the japanese though.

That doesn't mean anything. 4000 people could have bought the game and modem/bba. But it doesn't mean there all going to be on at the same exact time. People do have work and school somtimes other things to do. But ieven if it's close to a 1k is good. Because there is always people to play with. Which was somthing I missed having late in the V2 days.

I guess your right, it just seems REALLY low compared to how it was on DC.

Maybe in a week or two 5000+ will be on.

Yup, those ships are pretty barren. I think I've seen about 3 people in the last week.

It'll speed up soon. It's different this time around: the console doesn't come with a modem packed in. I know about 3 people with the game, none of which have a modem just yet. Once people get the time to actually connect, it'll speed up.

Eh, well let's see... Many people probably bought it for thr 4 player aspect. Not to mention it costs 9 bucks a month, which is way too much for a Casual PSOunknown.

I'm probably going to lower my initial sales projections of PSO in the US from 150,000 to about 50,000...

Who knows though... The numbers will get bigger... but that damned license fee, the fact that no one advertised it, and the no keyboard aspect pretty much means High Sales werent expected.

ITS 9 DOLLARS! IF YOU CANT COME UP WITH 9 DOLLARS A MONTH YOU SHOULD JUST KILL YOURSELF!

Friggin' 9 bucks. You should be able to make that much in a month even if you were dead.

The Game is almost impossible to find up here in Canada.Big stores who did get them last week received like 5 copies..Wal-Mart,Zeller's,EBGames,Compucenter etc up here don't even have the game yet,let alone the modem and BBA and no one can buy a keyboard. The casual gamer will pick this game up for the offline modes...i'm not sure this game will sell more then it did on the DC,sadly, because like some mentionned you need to buy add-ons to play online and V1 was free to play online.

Just about everyone could defintely get $9 a month... but why would they use it for PSO? Earth and Beyond (a far more comprehensive title) is about $10 a month. SEGA is getting greedy and this unreasonable license fee has bit em in the ass. Either they swallow their pride now and lower the fee or PSO GC won't be an online success.

I remember the old days of PSO vers 1 and 2. Lobbys were so full, even in the first week. Well i guess it goes to show how many ppl canT afford $8.95 a month, OR, just cant afford the expense of buying a BBA or a Modem, a copy of PSO, a Gamecube, a memory card, and yet but not least something i havent gotten yet, a damN keyboard! to maximize PSO's experience is expensive! luckily only thing I'm missing is a K-Board.....

I got on 2 hours ago to see 1300+, which is pretty good considering it was 230 eastern time, and the US servers are blocked off. Kids on west coast are just getting home too.

i bought the JP version as soon as i heard the US one would be $8.95 a month... not because i can't afford it, but because i don't want to support SEGA USA's price raping...

Alot of people who purchased the game haven't been able to get online. ISP incompatibility, or server problems.

i remember having that problem with PSOv2...

Well those problems can be more attributed to people who don't know a thing about setting up their connection not knowing what's what...

But as to the $9 a month charge, let's be frank, the reason the US version is this expensive per month is because it's expected that most will cancel their license after they realize how bad the service will be. The Japanese will be paying less because unlike us, they'll actually get the decent service, and thus will keep playing. When your business strategy supports players quitting after they get suckered by the first charge after their free month, that really helps explain why we don't have a keyboard, doesn't it?
