View Full Version : EU Compatability with US PSU? (PC Version)

I'm thinking of importing the US version of PSU, for PC. Before I do this, I'm wondering if there could be any issues registering for online play if my copy is a US one.

I have registered on US games before (FFXI), but I don't want to buy PSU to find I can't register for online play.

If this kind of information isn't known yet, that's ok- I just don't want to waste money on the US version if I couldn't go online (being from Europe myself).

Cheers.

It looks like US PSU is going to use the same billing system as US Blue Burst. So you may want to ask around and see if anyone from the EU has had problems using the US BB registration system. Of course, I wouldn't expect too many people to fall into that category since most Europeans would use the EU BB payment system.

Don't both US/EU use Playsega.com for billing? I've never had a problem with Blue Burst's billing so far..

It was my impression they used seperate billing servers. Of course, I may just be thinking of the seperate EU/US Blue Burst pages.

EU:
http://www.psoblueburst.com/

US:
http://www.psobb.com/

When I access my Billing Site for BB (I'm European), this is the address:
https://billing.playsega.com/protected/securityCheck

I don't know, there might be a seperate billing server for BB, but I've always used the link above http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

That is the same address I use, so I guess we're all using the same one. As long as you are able to use that page, I don't think there will be any difficulties with importing the US version of the game.

Yeah Cool. Are you for sure this is going to be the same system?

It looks that way- PSU seems to use Playsega, which is the same system PSO uses. Also, on the PSU page, it says you don't need to apply for a GameID if you have a PSO Blue Burst ID, so that suggests PSU will use the same system.

Yeah, I like the fact that they're sticking with the old system. It's actually pretty reliable, I've never had any problems with it.

Indeed, I didn't have any problems with the old systems, plus I didn't want to make a new Game ID anyways lol.

Ah OK, thanks for clearing that up, the post was slightly incoherent(spelling?).

Eh, well, Uriko....I've checked out Tronix myself, and it looks like a pretty OK site...but they don't have PSU yet, so meh,

Yeah, I wonder too, I saw a cheaper version at amazon.com, wich was around 45 bucks or so, but only imported for US http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_frown.gif

Play-Asia is too pricey, almost same price as here. X_X;

Any suggestions guys?

My old playsega.com account works on the one that links from the new psu website, so im guessing they are alowing uk members to sign up at least.

So if I can sign in, im guessing I could pay for the US psu also, unless the lockout comes into play then...

Well I think you can try Lik-Sang, not sure, or Tronix.
