Besides the menu titles you have a saber and that special weapon we think as a fan. We now know for sure that it's a new type of weapon http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

there looks to be Force fan-style weapon class.

not sure if they are thrown like slicers or something.

But I kind of doubt they are wielded close range like daggers. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Sounds like a mid-range, could be old type fan, or could be a new slicer weapon, but it certainly could not be... or could it? For close range, it could be hammer type, but I think I'm just speculating in delirium.

hammer??? since when can a fan flatten a monster? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

they are better used for cutting. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

but ya they might possibly be the mid-range 'slicer'-type of weapons ppl would like.

Apparently you've forgotten about the uberest of all uber PSO weapons... the Toy Hammer.

Hammer time!

was the toy hammer a fan? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Yes, yes it was. Since it and the fan were both actually just sabers with different skins and sound effects. =P

Never done challenge mode, but I'm sure that we can speculate more about this. Hammers wouldn't be a bad choice, they might also expand the axe weapon type to many more types of axes (double-edged...) kinda what you might get in WoW but more stylised and more futuristic.

hmmm well Fans now seem to be a independant weapon class now, so maybe they are the slicers of this game with their own animations? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

those handles seem pretty think though. so maybe they are waved and release slicer-types of arcs for mid-range attacks?

then again the jai-alai type of slicers in PSO behaved similiar to that than the traditional boomerang throwing slicers of the classic Phantasy Stars. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Well, if they manage to add the wind type, or a special magical touch to them (like against enemies that only recieve damage from techs and specials) it would work out really well. Maybe it would have more damage to aerial enemies, hmm reminds me of Lura's aerial assasin, hehe http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_bunny.gif

Yeah I hope the slicer is in the game in some form. I loved the slicer! A lot of people didn't realise how powerfull they were, you could mop up EXP with a decent slicer.

+1, I loved that weapon, it was really underrated IMO.

psh, when youre hanging out on vega server cause no one will go anywhere else, and you wanna join a group... the group ends up being a pwning duper party, having a slicer with you always did that nice amount of damage on every critter in the wave, so you got exp without doing much at all http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif but stilll participating, I miss it so =x

get over slicer's they werent that great and were situational. seeing as how someone in this thread said fans are for force i wouldnt be suprised if the fans are more akin to pso's card type weapons. lastly harisan fan and toy hammer used agito animations not saber.in the original pso they were sabers but that was chnaged in ep2

I'll take your word for it about them using the Agito animation. Except, I never noticed the animation for the Agito being any different from the saber animation, and I used my Orotiagito quite a lot in BB. o_0

And asides, I wasn't trying to make a serious point or anything. I just enjoy messing with Saner. =P

My guess is they are slicers; check out this link;

http://www.pso-world.com/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=2372

a nice ways down, it shows a pic of one. Fan type thing attached to a ring, and it's possibly left handed (As stated among the link page). Given it is left handed, if it follows the pattern of left handed weapons = ranged, chances are high it'll be slicer-esque.

Hehe kings slicer was excellent for parties where you had an uber PC running around killing things before you got a chance to hit them. As a cast, couldn't cast rafoie so I would lose out on exp otherwise.

that's a very good theory. and it makes sense for them to be ranged. so maybe they are slicer-like after all. and probably its rares will appear more boomerange-like. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif
