Can't start the PC game !

Ok, here is a fabulous bug...

I'm on a laptop (512mb RAM, 1.6Ghz, random video card, but works well with PSOBB).

I install the game. Nice. Then, I start it... And got a "d3dx9_27.dll can't be found".
Well then... I reinstall DirectX 9.c, plus the new one of August. Still get the same error.

I searched over the internet. I found out there was an update for this error from Microsoft. I installed it. Now, the game doesn't open. I don't even have an error message anymore.
The .dll is now present in Windowssystem32 by the way :/.

Anyone has got an idea please ?

maybe you have to install dx first? try reinstalling psu?

Ive had the same problem - you have to install the Direct X that comes on the disk aswell.

I installed the game, but not direct X and I had the same problem as you, but when I went back into it and installed the Direct X on the disk, it worked fine.

After this I updated Direct X from microsofts site, just to be sure I had the latest - no problems since. Hope this helps!

I also had this problem, just explore the CD and get the DirectX setup file, it worked for me.

The problem was that I didn't reinstall the game after having update DirectX.
