PC Story mode saving question

When saving, does it save to the server by default...or the hard disk. I remember hearing that Story mode could be saved in the server and wanted to check that it is enabled by default as I will be playing on multiple PC's

To be honest, I have no clue what was default. I just saved my game and ran with whatever it did. I don't even know where the option to change that (if it exists) even is.
