View Full Version : Guardians Academy???? the first true step to becoming a Gu

hey from what's learned. it seems Guardians go to an academy before they are given their own room and officially become Guardians!

aww I wonder what they would've been like if we would start out at the Academy first, then work our way to finally earn our Room and PM and 1st level

(I calculate new recruits would naturally start at level 0. though Ethan was level 1 before he entered teh Academy. yet our created characters, after the Academy, are at level 1. strange huh? http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_lol.gif

Well maybe the Academy would include book study classes (to learn and understand everything from history to photons to techniques, weapons, etc.) and non-lethal training courses and exams before graduating as a true Guardian! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

but I think that whole process would've been cool to experience ourselves. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif but I guess most ppl wanna jump straight to missions and start whacking some dangerous stuff! http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

so ya just wondering what it would've been like if the Guardians Academy was included in the gameplay instead of skipped. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

when i think of Guardian Academy and what it would be like, i think of people first having to take some kinda test. a test that would see what class your best suited to play as.

It would've been cool to have a choice...either start at level 1 as usual and jump into the game, or enter the Guardian Acadamy, go through some extra steps and when you graduate, you'd be at level 5 with some money and weapons/items. Also, maybe some extra room decorations....to encourage people to do so...

I also like Numm's idea of seeing which class you may like to play...maybe each "lesson" could involve you playing as each race and class so you can see which you like best.

What if machine: "Whatever Saner said."

If included i would like the whole academy portion to be just a bunch of mini-games.

Like, can you out eat fat bob in the mess hall, try to sleep as long as you can during class(dont let teacher see), and maybe ditch class!: Out run the dean of students!

one can dream.......

Maybe you can think of all your prior experiences with PSO as one long, extended series of VR traninig sessions in the "Guardian Academy" as training to become a full "guardian";

i.e. like a looooog extent withen a "Construct" like in "The Matrix" but living in a special
life-suppot pod, but now your character is in Gurahl and not in the VR Construct anymore.

I assume it'd be like the Air Force Academy in which Ethan had to eat at attention as a first year: 7 chews then swallow food, hazing and exercise every day.

"when i think of Guardian Academy and what it would be like, i think of people first having to take some kinda test. a test that would see what class your best suited to play as. "

Ragnarok Online did that. Even placed you in the city your suitable job's office was located.

They should have made "Guardians Academy" a required sub quest for lowbies before you could go on the servers or anything http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif the game would assign you to a team of 3 other lowbies and a lvl "xx" NPC that would take you through a series of rooms with different situations, kinda like what Kireek did in PSO. If there werent any available lowbies within 6 minutes of 'looking for classmates' the game would just start with you and the "xx" level npc. You'd use every class too, like rangers shooting Mag targets, hunters killing droid test dummies and forces using level one magic on color-changing targets or w/e (but they'd lose it after the training) http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_eek.gif then you get judged on your preformance and sent back to your room with a special 'diploma' item on a podium that you can put in your room ;o yay

guardian is a title given to you, its part of the organization you 'work' for too, like when you decide you wanna play online, you have to purchase a "guardian's license" yay so really its just an extra name to make people feel significant in an imaginary world that swaps bodies http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Perhaps the various PSU-related websites (including this one) and instruction manual are like studying at the Academy, and Story Mode is like a final exam. The Guardians are very lenient about their studies though, so total dropouts can become Guardians if they wanted to. They'll just have a rougher start.

i dont quite understand...it's just a prefix on your name?

it would be cool if it's like something you could work toward...like getting a jedi in the old SWG back in the day

I think Guardian is what your job is in game now, like in PSO you were a hunter.

...so it's like a hunter's license is now called a Guardian's license eh....that's super ghetto..

I agree, I like the sound of Hunter better. But, Guardian just seems more appropriate for an organization that's supposed to maintain peace by killing stuff. Hunters sound more like people that just go around killing for fun or food.

The Hunter's Guild was obviously biased in favor of Hunters over Rangers and Forces, thus contributing to the unequal distribution of wealth, phat lewtz, and justice.

True story.

Saner, you're grounded.

You didn't follow the proper protcol of posting some silly poll that will make everyone berate you. You're slacking off from your own personal code of conduct. You're a disgrace to... Saners... everywhere.

*takes Monomates* To My Room without dinner! And not my "My Room", I mean your "My Room". Got it? Good, cuz I just confused myself.

http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif lol, this was so much fun to type.

So you just said to yourself you were wrong >_>

Anywho, I like the name Guardians, and I would've liked the idea of working your way through the Guardian education thingie.
But it isn't a disaster it isn't there http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Actually... It is just like that. Except for this its in online mode after you graduate. If you do the 3 steps, you generally earn a free weapon, PA, and the guardian card of your race's character.
