Which class do you think is the easiest to play as?

Based on a group, safety wise, ranger. Don't hate me, its just an opinion.

Easily Hunter... Moon, have you played the game? Ranger is A LOT more complex this time around, as you can see in Lones topic. They must utilize a plethora of skills and bullets.

I know, i did read the WHOLE arguement of how much meseta they spend etc man >.< i got alot of free time, but from what i hear, obviosuly the hunters are guna be in the mix all the time, and the force needs to get in a bit to heal here and there etc. but if the ranger WANTS they can stay back all day long. I didn't base it on how complex they are... but on how they can be used easily... although i guess that way wouldn't be too helpful. But yeah, i know hunter lock on etc is simple and easiest!

While I'll be a Hunter and and ENJOY being in the middle of the large battle Hunter are still easier.

Hunter you don't really need to do PP management. For both FO and RA you need to do alot more movement and alot more PP management.

Next would be FO, since you really just nuke and heal.

RA is probably the most complex, but not necessarily significantly more than the other classes.

So Hunter is by far the simplest.

Looks like I'm going hunter then. I don't plan on getting too hardcore into this game so I dont want to use a class that's going to be tricky to use, I'll leave them to the more hardcore players. Even though I kinda dislike the idea of playing as a game's easiest and most popular class, I have a good excuse... I played almost exclusively as Rangers and Forces in every version of PSO, so it's time to try something new. I seem to change my mind about which class I want to play as every few days so who knows which class I'll end up using when the game comes to north america.

I do that with Ranger and Force this version, I've played Force everytime(experimenting with others of course) but this time around, I wish to show all these Ranger Nay-Sayers up, it seems no one can play them game... But, I'll most likely stick with my roots and keep going wtih Force...

Good luck to ye, look foward to partying with you 40 days from now.

Yes, lets party in 40 days, I'm looking forward to trying a Tank for the first time. Seems simple enough, I'll distract 'em while you blast 'em.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullshit.

Play as beast, THEN say HU is easy.

You see a hell of a lot of 0s till you zip around the back and side of things.

At first Hunter was by far the easiest, but around Lv25+ I was breezing through missions as a Force, but it wasn't due to mindless mashing of the attack button.

He's entitled to his own opinion....I've seen people who flat out SUCK using certain classes that are fairly simple but can turn around and effectively manage another class that is generally considered to be more difficult. Some classes are easier for certain people.

I dunno.. despite the rant about them.. I will have to say Rangers are pretty easy to play... at least in a party. Just stay back, pop off some support shots and occasionally run in for some melee fun.. just remember to be quick on your toes to back out of there and start firing your guns again if need be. I'd think Hunters are the more difficult class out of them because they're constantly in the thick of things.. although if you have a healing Force slave, things probably get a lot easier.. =D

Well you aren't really a Tank here either. The difference between a HU and a FO is that you take 4-6 hits to die instead of 2. The whole point of PSO / PSU being action oriented games is that you can and should try to avoid getting hurt as much as possible, or you're going to be a drain on your party.

In this regard, Ranger is the easiest to play as and do your job effectively. Just hold down the strafe button while hammering away at enemies with ice bullets from Dual Pistols. It doesn't get easier than that. However, you will grow very slowly because you are totally fucked for cash compared to the other 2 classes.

Actually, I'm enjoying my Ranger so much I'm tempted to play one as my primary character on the US servers. Tempted, but...

As far as easy goes...I haven't played all 3 classes yet, but I'm guessing Hunter.

I realize that I wouldn't literally be a tank in the same sense as in a standard MMORPG, but I play alot of action games, fighting games, and adventure games so I'm looking forward to a class that relies alot on twitch reflexes. Melee in PSU looks much deeper than PSOs melee, and the fact that you can Z target enemies and not be slowed to walking speed when you're close to an enemy makes melee look alot smoother and more satisfying then it was in PSO. I think I'd rather learn how to dodge attacks as a Hunter then have to worry about PP and cash all the time as a RA or FO, but knowing me my mind will have changed again by the end of the week. If they eventually patched the servers to divide meseta equally between players in a party I might consider being a Ranger but I know that I'll miss out tons of cash being at a distance. I may ultimately have to try all 3 classes before making my decision.

Hunter's pretty easy... up until you start rank B missions. The tables turn real fast when enemies suddenly no longer flinch until the last hit of a combo.

I didn't contradict myself back there, i just said that i based it on the safety aspect of the class in a group, not on the all round game-play, thats how i percieved "easiest to play with" I simply acknowledged your view as liable and agreed if it was judged that way it would probably be the hunter but i still stuck with the way i judged it ^_^

this poll result is all wrong. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime2.gif

Ranger is in fact the easiest. all though there is PP management, it's style of combat is still basically keep away and shoot. guns have a far safer advantage than blades.

so Hunters are in fact harder to master because they are on the front lines taking most of the heat.

who was it, I think it was Shiramisu who had the perfect video that displayed how fighting with guns is easier and safer than blades.

so like always, Rangers are really the beginner-kind of class. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

No, no, you see everyone whose actually played the game saying that Hunters is the easiest class simply isn't enough! Everyone's just playing it wrong http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/burger.gif

no ppl who say Hunters are the easiest are either:

A:Ranger fans who want to believe their preferred class is deeper and more challenging than it actually is. (PP bullet management is a lame excuse, PP recharges over time anyway. and being able to carry multiple guns, it's reasy to use something else in the meantime).

B: Hunter fans who overestimate their power advantages. blades are useless against flying/out- of-range enemies most of the time.

its not about having played the game or not have played the game, the basics are still the same.

Guns have a clear advantage, better range than Hunters, decent power, and Rangers can take more damage than Forcers. thus making Rangers the easiest of the 3 classes.

people who want to be the ultimate best will use Ranger because its clearly the easiest. they just say its harder to have less competition.

just because the majority in a mere poll think that hunters are the easiest, doesn't mean its generally true, because ppl once thought the world was flat and billions ended up wrong. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

So a hunter's blades cannot reach a flying enemy...can't hunters use guns for such targets anyway?

The way I see it so far, without having played the game however so my opinion is likely moot: Rangers are PROBABLY the easiest to play because they can sit in the back AND fight entirely independently of targeting systems. (Sometimes the things that make tasks easier are actually the very things that make life harder.)

saner theres things you dont realize. from information i've gleaned off the irc chat one of the reasons rangers currently sucks its a lack of access. appearently fo's suffer from this too since i heard theres no support techs online yet >.>

Hm, well Rangers as safest, I agree with. You probably take less damage than any other class because to my knowledge you have the greatest range of any class. With a decent group I never even run out of PP or have to use healing items. Alas, I am still a lowly C-Rank.

Easiest, however...I can't quite agree with. For instance, what you said about targeting systems is not entirely true: you actually have to toggle between two types of weapons and three different targeting systems depending on the changing circumstances of battle.

But perhaps I've just misunderstood what you meant.

Or, it might just be that I'm not a very good player, so...
