There is no guild system.

Trust me, that's a good thing.

There is no guild system, but it is always nice to form a guild outside of the game so you have a consistant group of people to play with that can help you enjoy the game.

What the bot above me just said http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Some ppl hate guilds and some like them....you're going to see a very vocal population about this issue here....but as far as functionality, no its not like PSOBB. But dont let that stop you from joining a guild anyways for the right reasons.

I really don't like guilds. I mean, I like the idea of them, but they always ~ in my experience ~ turn into drama-fests, sooner or later.

I prefer to just play and meet who I meet, keep track of the cool people, and start with them in mind next time on.

I have met lots of cool people who are into guilds, so I'm not anti-guild... they're just not for me.

I'm actually glad PSU doesn't have the same system as PSOBB had (team chat). I actually found that annoying. I'd rather just make a team and keep the chat between us while we adventure. There's always mail if you want to chat with people not in your current game, plus lobbies for hanging out, plus rooms.

Guilds are pretentious.

If there aren't guilds, how do you select missions then?
At the same moment you're creating a team?

Didnt we already have this conversation? =P

Anywho, if you're looking for guild stuff, just ask around ingame, I plan on running a guild with a bunch of my friends. Thats what Ventrilo, Teamspeak, X-Fire and free forum boards are for http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

can you mail more than one person at a time?

I don't get why people are so bothered by guild drama, it's easily the most entertaining part of the majority of MMOs.

Guilds aren't necessarily a bad thing but I saw the US BB community fractured and factionalized by the team system.

I'd rather it didn't happen again, no need to give a community known for being at each other's throats already over other matters another excuse to hate each other.

Guilds are pretentious the same way how many "friends" you have on Myspace is. Most of them are started by noobs establishing self-importance.

Guilds or no guilds, I don't care as long as the simple mail system has been improved.

I actually started a forum treantspsu.19.forumer.com , some of my final fantasy buddies are playing so we used our guild name on there. Its just a site for people to keep in touch with mutual friends and post screenshots and all that fun stuff.

Also isnt there voice chat for this game?

Tetsuro

voice chat is only in the 360 version.

This may be coming from my GuildWars and WoW background, but I enjoy guilds. That is, when I can relate with the members. I guess I can deal with not having a guild in PSU, i will revert to my PSO days when I had a long list of friends that I would mail when I logged on. I do hope to play with some of the members on this site though. I will be playing the 360 version.

Yes, you can mail as many people as you have guild cards at the same time. I would say the functionality was improved. So basically guilds aren't necessary, just trading cards with people you like.

In most MMOs wich use major guild systems, there seems to be a less friendly environment ((did I spell that right?)). People seem to stick together and ignore new peole, people they don't know or people who have no guilds.. and I'm rarely into guilds so I get left out most of the time x_x!

How much notice do you want before I go to the store? Keep in mind I live in MI so it won't be as bad of a trip as it could be for you, but it's enough that while you're here you might want to make a weekend out of it.

Aw man, i really thought there was going to be voice chat for PSU. Cause the main site was talking about voice chat.

Nothing's stopping you from D/ling vent or TS.....and 360 is already prewired for voice.....I'm pretty sure PS2 is as well, but I dont know the exact program it uses.

I agree with you, you need some form of pvp for that, or at least a ranked/scoring pve set up.
So, where is the pvp? huh? Sega?
My thoughts anyway.
