Yeah, but we'll have to wait awhile until we can get the daggers. Not because of the levels, but because of the fact that "The Hive" won't even be out yet...we got to wait for it to be unlocked.

its not that hard to hit lvl 100 in offline mode. you will be at least the high 50s if you do NONE of the stages you unlock after completing the area. if you do a few of them you'll be lvl 70 before you know it. just spend an hour or two making runs through the lvl 50+ areas and youll be 100 before you know it.

if i find something good in offline ill be sure to share it. but right now, most of the stuff you get in offline (including recipes) aren't that great. they're just stuff that you can buy later on in the game once you advance the story.

So is PSU going to be like PSO was in respect to doing things offline to open them online? Lord knows I hated running offline to open all the zones for the online game, so I am hoping and praying they aren't making us do that again because if so it looks I will be doing it form start to finish each and every time I play online.

The things you do Offline have no effects on what you do Online. The content just has to be opened up by Sega, since they seem to be releasing parts of it at a time.

I have a question for the importers--

OK, now I know that each weapon has a rank, and you must be a certain class level before you can use that weapon....in terms of rares, something tells me that most rare weapons will be like S class stuff....now, because it is a rare, does it over ride the whole needing to be a right level thing in order to use certain weapons?

nah its pretty simple PSO style, instead of picking @ the start HU RA FO you can change at will for 1000 mst (HU default) so HU has S rank mele so you can only equip S mele weps not S ranged weps or force weps. so each job specialises in a wep type and only specialist 'rare' weps can be used by that group. a ranger obviously can weild 'rare' rifles shots and lazers ect but only use mid ranged mele (that he's allowed) and lower FOR.

alpha-hunter, i really aint got a clue as to if they drop the goodies as i dont understand the JP text but if i find a board and item drop from one of those muthas i will be jumpiung for joy. LOL to my knowlege they have only dropped mst for me but heres hoping.

cant remember off hand how much cash i had (i made my extra dudes then went to bed, had 2 B up early so 4am was my cut off, LOL) but it wont take long to get cash, the 1st free mission on the blue planet, (im not remembering names today) you can get a few of an atomizer (i imagine its either a star or a scape doll 7/8 star) that sells for 5K do a few runs of this lvl (its pretty simple forest 1 style) and the cash flows freely.

also i found wepons rarely show up as drops and in boxes so gettin them is a bit tricky for me @ the mo, im on story so maybe thats why

hehe it would be nice, to actually have a rare wepon that aint duped and doesnt take forever to find but still holds its worth both for rep and value in game. as much as i hacked my older offline games in the past im glad this installment seems pretty secure.

Me too. I have a frined that said he had loads of rares on PSO. I found that all of them were hacked, hah! Mine aren't as I only played offline, two caduceus, 3 red saber,. I might find some rares if my luck comes up.

i started playing PSO PC again last month. level 60 now and all i have found is a double saber and a DB saber. that's the main reasons why hacking was so big in PSO. 1) because it was relatively easy to do and 2) because it took forever to get the rares you wanted on your own. and of course you had to have the right section ID. I never hacked or duped, but I did accept free items from someone (a chained saw and spread needle) and later found they were duped. shouldn't have taken them, but PSO had you pull your hair out if you tried to do it the right way...

Not really, I mean, apart from the rare enemeis, I was ok. Reached lvl133 and had 3/4 of the rares. I hope PSU gives you nice pressies at the end of really hard missions!

hehe it was mag cells that tipped the scales for me, then i figured how to do god mags and lavis blades then it all went from there, even when i was hacking i never give out hacks to ppl that didnt know what they were. and i never hid the fact i used them (i never actually coded online tho damn NOL, or use GOE). beside all that i always had a pure legit hunewearl that i never messed with (black costume, pink hair).

God I hope rares are an actual commodity. My hunter in PSO had his bank full of rares, although 99% of them were weak 9 stars. I only played offline but i managed to run out of room to hold them all (of course most of them were doubles, or...dectouples (damn varistas), with a few exceptions and my trophy Orotiagito (Which i pray more then any weapon they bring back).

Oh, and are rares findable right off the bat? Thats the only thing I disliked about PSO, the fact that I had to wait 20 levels to find anything worthwhile.

There are what seem to be "low lvl rares", like that bow I put the image of on the first page? It's a 4 star, which means it's not rare, but it's different to normal photon weapon, so in that case it could be considered rare.

Well, what I've seen on most vids, Barnet, is that it is possible to find rares even in low ranking areas, but the most I've seen found in a C-Rank mission is like a 7-8 star item. I can tell their rares because they are the only items that are announced found on the right side of the screen

Scape dolls are found randomly in all boxes (8 star). Kubara wood goes the same (7 star). There are various others and these may not exactly be useful. 7+ star weapons are not found anywhere yet. And this doens't necessarily mean they're "Rare". So perhaps rather than using the term "Rare" weapons, we should use the term "Unique," or something similar.

Generally when referring to rare/unique items, you'll cite the manufacturer as well. Anything by "Kubara", would be generally considered as a rare as their graphic appearances are unique as it's not made by any of the planet's manufacturers.

Those cyan knuckles posted earlier in the thread are ten stars and S-rank, but made by Tenora Works. Personally looking at them, I find it silly to consider it as not being rare. Just as I consider the bow dropped of Neudiaz Gargoyles to be a rare item, as it's made by Kubara. Just because it has a low or high star rating doesn't really mean much, it's all just semantics.

In regard to an earlier posted statement about rankings of weapons, the rank of it from C through S is going to effect what job can equip it. The reason for this is the high level, monsterously powerful S rank Kubara weapons won't be equippable by every job. See: Hunters with Spread Needles in version 2.

If you look online, you'll see a solid hunter only can equip B rank melee weapons currently. I'm assuming a player with a hybrid job of hunter/whatever is not going to get S rank weapon equipment abilities. If you want those über swords, you'll have to play as a solid ADV Hunter with no guns. The same applies all around.

It's all user-defined which makes it impossible to get one singular definition of it. Probably easier to just call the item by its name and leave it at that, I guess.

yeah my analogy and sort of confusion over c-s rank is mainly what im peicing together from my non translation of JP LOL and what im finding out as i play.

i do agree however that with this installment (psu) that we need a more appropriate name for the unique/rare/special/manufacturer special issue wepons and gear out there as the star rating is a bit different to old style (i found 8 star item @ lvl1, it was a star atom/doll) and it seems that the old style RARE is now being replaced by the 'made by pete, from enemy bits and wood'
