Offline Level Up Hard Mode with new char?!

If i load a multiplayer game with my level high level char (Sedyne) and my little brother creates a new char...can i go into hard mode with him at the same time? that's given i completed normal mode...
cuz i want to help my bro lvl fast

No, multiplayer works like online. Your brother will need to be lvl 20 to be able to play hard with you.
