I know next to nothing about playing FO so I have no idea which subclass I'll make yet... How can it be that FOnewm do more tech dmg than FOnewearl (according to description) with lower MST max? Or do FOnewearl get higher TP max (according to description) without higher MST, FOnewm just having a lower TP cap? I thought TP was derived from MST, but the descriptions kind of conflict with that idea.
BTW which FO do you like best?

Fonewearl has most mst and tp in the game. She is master of simple techs and megid.
Fonewman has 2nd highest mst and tp and is master of RA spells.
I imagine when both characters are maxed on mst fonewman ra damage will only do a little more than fonewearl. Considering fonewman max mst is 1500 and fonewearl is 1750.

I am also a big FOmar fan. The only thing I *don't* like about them is that they don't regenerate TP. But the tradeoff isn't so bad since they absolutely *rock* with the GI-techs and have good support tech ability as well. Chaaaaaain-lightnin', baby!
I prefer FOmar and FOmarl to the other two simply because I can't stand platform shoes. That's what it really all boils down to. http://www.pso-world.com/psoworld/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

I'm a bit confused now. What do you mean they own at specific techs? This is new and interesting to me. I only know that HUmar don't get shifta/deband any more (thank god, now there is actually a reason to be a HUnewearl besides so you can stare at it when bored or to accurately portray your own gender). So now there is actually diversity within the FO class too? FOmar are the *best* at gi-whatever techs, FOnewm at ra-whatever, FOnewearl at basics? How does that work? Lower TP cost to use or actual greater effect? (more dmg/range?) Does this apply to the RA classes as well? RAmar / RAmarl have dif specialties?

You are correct: this is something new with the GC version of PSO. FOmar have greater damage (and quite possibly greater range) with GI-techs than the other three FOs have. FOnewearls have better damage with basic techs. Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera. I believe TP costs remain the same, although I don't know about those costs at higher levels (my FOmar is only lvl 11 right now). You just get more bang for your buck depending on which type of FO you are.
I have no idea about whether there are specialties for Rangers - but, as you mentioned, the tech restrictions for non-FO characters are, in my mind, a Good Thing.

Also what do FOmarl rock at then? And does support inclined mean greater duration/% increase from Shifta/Deband? I think we have a lot of new stuff to research now... ^___^ I LOVE IT

Fomarl is master of grants and has the best range for shifta, deband, jellen, and zalure.

I'd have to say FOmar.
FOmar's specialty is Gi-tech and S&D. Sure, it's not as strong or huge in radius as Ra-tech, but at least it's more "functional" than basic-tech. I can at least keep charging enemies at bay easily with Gi-tech. Also, though it costs more than basic-tech, at least it's not as costly as Ra-tech, thus FOmar won't chug fluids too much. Also, Gi-tech isn't that hard to access at low level, not to mention not too expensive to purchase and quite common to find through the game. Plus, although support tech is actually FOmarl's specialty, FOmar actually has best Shifta & Deband. Good for team play, I'd say. Furthermore, during the "normal" mode where FOs can actually try to tank and may survive, FOmar seems to do slightly better w/ weapons than other FOs. If there's any drawbacks to FOmar, I'd say lousy stats, (especially HP) but basically all FOs share that problem anyway.
Just may 2 cents.

How can you tell who has the best shifta/deband? Is there a website that already lists this stuff? Also if anyone has info on RAnger techs plz post something about it.

RAmars can't use Jellen, Zalure, Grants, Megid, or Reverser; Anti goes up to level 5, and all other techs go up to level 15.
RAmarls can't use Grants, Megid, or Reverser; Anti goes up to level 7, and all other techs go up to level 20.

Where did you find this out? Seriously is there a website or a part of this one that lists things like that? So I take it all FO get lv30 everything just like DC?
---update---
I guess I should've read the GC info sticky thread awhile ago and it would've answered those questions about techs, EXCEPT for how come you say dif FO cast shifta/deband differently despite being capable of the same lv30.

FOmar: 1.3 times damage gi-techs and grants. 2 times shifta and deband range
FOmarl: 1.5 times damage grants. 2 times shifta, deband, jellen, zalure, resta and anti range
FOnewmn: 1.3 times damage ra-techs
FOnewearl: 1.3 times damage simple techs. 2 times resta and anti range. Megid can hit multiple enemies and is more effective

People that know these things are either importers or found out the information from importers. I am an importer.
Each force has a different range for casting shifta and deband. When you cast shifta and deband, small bubbles of red or blue will circle around and stretch out from your character for a brief moment. It is easiest to see this effect when casting shifta and deband at level 30. How far those bubbles reach out from your character is the range. Fonewearl has the worse range. Casting shifta and deband with her is like casting level 8 s/d on v2.

Wow thanks for clearing that up for me. After reading this and the max stats page I'm convinced that FOmar and RAmarl are powerful additions to the game, not just aesthetics ^__^ HUcaseal is another story... Ah well go ninja girl go, I don't mind more s3xy fembots running around at all O.o;

I'm thinking about working on a force character.
The other night our team was running out of pipes and moon atomizers. I personally died several times. People kept joining the game and asking for pipes and we had to say no because we didn't have any. In short, we needed a higher level force with Ruyker and Reverser badly.
Which one's the best to start with?

I'm going to try a FOmarl out since the extra support spell range sounds really good to me. Can anyone tell me if they can confirm that information on the extra ranges? The rappyland link is hard to read even after a translation and I'm nowhere near being able to tell myself. I'd really like to have a better support force, I plan to use my HUcast for when I'm more interested in killing things.
