Just wondering what the best controller for PSU is, I was wondering how the 360 controller handled in PSU, and what about other common ones like logitechs offerings.

logitech has always been faithful to me for ffxi and arc the lad online, but their controllers arent usually as long-lasting as others, I can guarantee about a year and a half with no problems on a basic logitech keyboard controller

is there a specific model I should get, like which has a good analog stick and such, and should I get six button or 4 button controllers?

The Xbox 360 controller works amazingly well O_O Need help setting it up?

Then set up the pad in PSU. I use the first default layout ^__^ I had to set up the last two settings to enable the right thumbstick to rotate the camera. To enable rumble, you have to turn it on in the game http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif its perfect I tell ya http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Durable and very responsive... not like the crappy 'thrustmaster' I had... piece of... @#@% -___-;; -burns it in hell-

Yea I been tinkering around with those. Tried to configure it to work on oblivion but the analog sticks just dont want to work right.

I hope I can get it to work for PSU, either that or ask a PSU player who uses the controller for a step by step guide. I never really messed with PC controllers at all, so I dont have much experiance in gettin one to work.

I've had two logitech controllers go out on me while playing FFXI. The sticks lost their springiness and I couldn't even run after awhile because the axises got all fug beaned. I'd recommend get a controller adapter for you favorite console controller and using one of those. I still use my PS2 controller. This thing has lasted 10 times longer than those logitech peices of crepe.

I just used the same controller I used for FFXI. Any "PS2 ripoff" gamepads should work well.

How much do controller adapters go for? I'm thinking/hoping pretty cheap.

I got my PS2 controller adapter for $5 off Ebay. They shouldn't be very expensive.

This one is similar to the one I bought. http://cgi.ebay.com/PSX-PS2-CONTROLLER-TO-PC-2-PORT-USB-CONVERTER-ADAPTER_W0QQitemZ250031742271QQihZ015QQcategoryZ41 059QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I love my 360 controllers. Never had more fun on a PC until I got these. Most of the controllers I got were unresponsive sometimes. >< Saitek, and even logitech! I do have a logitech cordless mouse that ive yet to change the batteries on. I love it!

I've been using a logitech rumblepad for PSOBB and it works well. I'm sure it will work fine with PSU, but if you already have a ps2 or 360 controller, it would probably be cheaper and easier to just buy an adapter.

Should I pick up a 360 controller, and does it need an adapter? so I would need to pick up a 360 controller and an adapter? or just the controller.

don't pick up the 360 controller unless you want a lot of hassle i spent more than 7 hours trying to get it to work on my PC one day and that wasn't the first time i've tried. There is a way to do it and most people make a mistake when setting up the drivers and the help is really really shytty so unless you want to spend hours for a thing that should take minutes don't buy it

I'll use the keyboard, lol. If it gets on my nerves, I'll use a PS2 controller.

do you know if gamestop or ebgames, or a place like that would have controller adapters, can I use my Gamecube controller?

Zarbolord
Sep 22, 2006, 05:22 AM
In france not a single shop has it, that I know, you need to order it online for that. For other places I don't know. And I'd like to know too for the GC controller, sinceI already have one, it wouldn't be a bad idea.

It probably will. I'd like to see someone try strafing while firing a handgun at the same time http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

It can be done with a good keyboard. I know mine couldn't do it, I can't have more than two keys pressed at once. So, it can be done, but really, who would want to. Anyone looking for console controller to PC adapters can try hitting up http://www.lik-sang.com/

EDIT: Look right here for the good stuff, it will adapt DC, PS2 and GC controllers to USB. http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=162&products_id=4532&

The wired one connects to the 360 with USB as well, so you don't need an adapter.

I've personally got one of those old Nyko Air Flo controllers. The only dual analog USB controller I've got.. so, I'm gonna use that.

I'm using a logitech controller and its nice, though any thing PS2 or 360 shaped should be fine. Controller is the ONLY way to play the game properly

i used to play the game with a PS controller. But i dont like the layout of the PS controller. What i want is something like the DC controller, which is having the left analog stick on the left but not the digital direction buttons. For me, it is more comfortable and convenient to move the character and set up equipments or items at the same time.

Hope my comment is useful for you guys. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_smile.gif

one more thing i want to say is, the 360 controller supports rumble in PSU

I play PSU with the Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2. It closely resembles the shape of a standard PS2 controller, and feels great in the hand. It has great battery life and also supports the rumble feature in PSU.

Just get a USB adaptor for whatever console pad you're most comfortable with. I used a PS2 pad with PSOBB, was much nicer than using the GCN or DC ones.

Cloudkiller
Sep 24, 2006, 02:09 AM
So you mean if you have been playing PSO on GCN controller, even though your used to it PS2 controller would be nicer?

AnamanaAU
Sep 24, 2006, 02:13 AM
I said that I found it was a nicer pad. I never said that it would be a more comfortable pad for everyone.

I remember seeing a controller similar to this

http://i3.ebayimg.com/03/i/07/de/24/ce_1.JPG

Would a controller with 6 buttons be good for PSU or would a 4button setup be better?

Tystys
Sep 24, 2006, 03:09 PM
From what I've heard, apparently 4 buttons is enough...especially if it's on the 360 and PS2.

Just add some triggers, and you're set. If there's no triggers on that controller, than yeah, 6 buttons would be good XD

I'll be playing on my PC, so I'll use some combination of Keyboard, Mouse, N52 (http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=157024), or AirFlo PC Controller (http://www.nyko.com/nyko/products/?i=11#).
