Read this thread (http://www.pso-world.com/viewtopic.php?topic=33283&forum=1&5), it already deals with what you said.

I don't beleive it myself, there's no logic behind discontinueing a selling point of the system.

I mean, they'd be better off just putting a disclaimer out, "Will discontinue cash-cow after 10 months without warning or notice".

I find it highly unlikely that it's true, but if it is, oh well.

Well, if thats the case, I'll have to mail my GC sys and pso to Nintendo of Canada with a rather soar letter regarding my opinion of them...ending with "I'm buying a ps2". lol.

Its gotta be a hoax...

hmm... Sounds like BS to me, but on the other hand there is only one game at the moment that uses the modem so its not like Nintendo needs to produce a hudge quanty of them. So mabey once a few more online titles get released there will be a demand to make more. AnyWhOoo.. its not like this info is coming from a good source, just some guy that works at a gameStop.. bleh~

Yes, and I e-mailed Nintendo and this is what they had to say:

Phantasy Star Online for the Gamecube has NOT been discontinued. Due to a lack of availability of it it has been shipped to stores with large backorders for it, rather than stores that have none. Thus, Gamestop has not recieved it, and for some reason has put it as 'discontinued'. The same goes for the BBA and Modem.

--NOTE--This is paraphrased of course...

Bull crap.

I actually WORK at gamestop, heh, and I can tell you that our shipments of BBA's are not discontinued. Why would we???

And if for some reason, tomorrow the computers say (delisted) next to the modems, that by no means, means that there discontinued.... just on hold.

The reason it says discontinued is because Nintendo has stopped distributing the modems to retailers, and is instead going to sell them soley from their website http://store.nintendo.com

Or that is my understanding of the matter, anyways.

If its true..."Hmm, I really want my Padded Chairs to be a sucess, but I am not going to give the Padded part." Wow, there lame.

It would most likely be site maintenance. An update, corrections, etc. Have to wait and see.

You just dont discountinue things like that. Especially after such a short amount of time. It' possible that our Gamestop isnt accpeting new shipments, but that doesnt mean there going to stop making them...

Indeed, discontiuing a cashcow or it's cash-ness would be 'financial suicide'. They won't do it... at least, not now. ^_________^

Especially with an online GC pokemon game in the works.

They're just backordered is all. Nintendo would never stop selling a product that clearly has demand.

I don't know if this means anything, but EB Games has stopped selling the BBA on their website. I just went there to order a copy and it is no longer listed. The funny part is that the Modem Adapter is still available. I don't know what this means, but one thing is for sure...it's gonna be hard to find a BBA.

nintendos just scared if ya ask me
but all in all it shouldnt be to hard to get the modem at least i bought mine at software etc.
the easiest way to get a BBa is either to call or find magazines that sell em(wih magizines are hard)
but the most irresponsible thing they can do is stop selling em. trust nintendo can be idiots

Evidently Walmart's been getting quite a large number of them in lately.
