So yeah. I was finally starting to agree that maybe RA didn't have it so bad, that maybe the status effects really would make up for the low damage output and high cost of emptying out gun after gun.

Then Sega caught on or something and decided to ruin that aspect of RA this week with a patch.

I'm down to proc'ing roughly 1 status effect in 12 shots or more even with Dual Handguns, which means even with my crappy RA damage most enemies will die before being afflicted by anything. Large enemies like the lizard-centaurs in Shikon / Mizuraki can't be set on Fire now, period, basically ruining Fire as a useful status effect, assuming you can proc it on anything in time for it to do damage now.

RA have been stripped of any redeeming qualities at this point, save being able to use Rifles on bosses, which is hardly necessary to a group as FO and HU can do as much damage or more, they're just at slightly higher risk from having to stand closer.

Untrue. I've been playing in Shikon since I got my PM to GH-420, and a fair number of those enemies have burned just fine.
I still see a fair bit of burnage as a Force. The main difference now is that not everything is going to be on fire all of the time.

I freeze around once in 20 shots now on the worms, twice in 24 if I'm lucky that batch. Far from often enough to be considered "dependable".

lol, dude, I don't know what's up with your rifle PA then.. I freeze them on a decent basis STILL, as you can see in that video.. Make sure you're not playing with someone using Foie, fire guns, or a fire blade.. (Conflicting statuses will cause problems! Burning enemies can't be frozen..)

I've been solo'ing while doing research / farming Shikon, and good luck setting things on Fire anyway. I can't hardly do that at all any more vs. normal mobs. Vs. the big fuckers that Cross can still light up I can shoot 40 times with a Handgun or Duals and not set them on fire.

Not really. They all used to proc at about the same rate, now nothing procs that often so I guess it is probably the same.

It's really not THAT bad.. = I realize I said enemy in the video.. at first I read it as enemy, but it was shot.. still.. it's not anything close to that. (Although it seems that the 2 Booma looking guys were pretty resistant to my freeze in the video... could have been their S/D buffs.. but that should just affect physical damage and not resistance.. ST could have jacked them up a tad.. But the other day, I was able to get burning on them at a decent rate in a group..)

You could try, but Mechguns have low PP and burn through it pretty fast. You couldn't keep very many enemies "stun locked" for very long, I'd guess.
