I may be taking this overboard but oh well. Today I had to go out a long ways from where I live now (just moved in with my girlfriend) So I decided to do some exploring. I found a local swapmeet, which had an awesome gamestore full of imported games. I'm sorting thru the games "Ooooh zombie vs ambulance!" Then behind it I see it... Phantasy Star Universe, price tag of $69.99. The sales rep notices me staring at it and goes "If you buy it now, i'll sell it for an even $60.00" So many thought run thru my head... I promised my gf before I moved in I wouldnt import PSU since she knew i was such a fanatic... But the thing was I technically wouldn't be importing since it was already here... Many more thoughts ran thru as I put the case back down and walked out the store empty handed... The walk back home all I could think about was how I was so close to having PSU. But i'm pretty sure my gf woulda tripped if I brought it home with me, even with my original plan to play it only when she wasnt home, but her pesky lil bro would've most likely snitched... Gah I WAS SO CLOSE TO HAVING IT... Guess i'll just play some PSO themed DDR to cool me down and wait for the NA release... *sigh*

If it was anywhere near opened you would have been suckered out of 60 dollars. You can't reregister the game key on a new account I believe. Not sure I would trust a swapmeet when I could import it with next day shipping for ~70.

I played EPIII In japanese and managed 5555 and lv350 Online and 10King http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif. So JP version wouldnt faze me at all.

Must have been tempting, but I think you did the right thing.

Besides, like Kakashi said, if you don't speak/read Japanese, then playing a Japanese-language-only rpg is pretty pointless. It can be done, of course, but its also really frustrating a lot of the time. I imported FFXI back before it came out in NA and it was a painful experience. Thanks to FAQ's and stuff it was playable, barely, but so much was over my head plus so much was spoiled for me by the time I got the English version. It really wasn't worth it.

Even GC PSO JP, which had a English-language option, was sort of a waste (sorta of) because the servers ended up being separate so I started all over again when the NA version came out. I prolly would have been better off just waiting.

I wouldn't buy it just because I wouldn't own 1 imported game at all. I own one import and that's Chaos Legion of PS2. I still would've just cried at the sheer luck of myself, knowing that gods just teasing me, but I still wouldn't have bought it.

belive me, not worth it unless you can speak/read japanese
as much as dubed version will suck ass, at least you can actually READ the names of materials and bullets and other important stuff

i played the import version, its ok. its hard to understand what is going on and what items you find. plus all it does is just ruin what is to come when the english version is released because you will know almost everything when it comes out. i wish i didn't import, i'm already tired of playing, but i'm sure once the english version comes out i'll get right back into it.

But yeah its not pussy whipped its not wasting money when we just moved into a new place and have to depend on ourselves. I'm sorry i'm no longer a 15 yr old kid who can depend on his parents to do everything for him. I have a job, and bills to pay.
