Though it's funny to see, I rather like my originality.

I'm interested though, to see what kind of characters we find walking around; although, I have a feeling there are going to be millions of Super Saiyans and Ninja (via Naruto) running around. I won't be too surprised to see a fair share of Shinigami (via Bleach) moving about also.

It's something to look forward too, nonetheless.

I think it would be fun to make some characters from Lunar: The Silver Star or Lunar: Eternal Blue (my two favorite games ever) =D Everyone makes characters from the FF series or DBZ but I've rarely seen a character from Lunar(I dunno maybe I just never run into them for some reason). Ramus would be funny to see. It would also be funny to see someone make Leo in his Mystere outfit somehow, if you could get a mask for halloween or something... To bad you can't put horns on a beast character...

Anyways...since you mentioned it, I tried making a KOS-MOS a few days ago. Of course it doesn't look as nicely as I hoped, but it was fun trying at least. Pity that I didn't take any screenies, by now I replaced her with an original chara of mine. It's just that, while playing story mode, I was reminded of Xenosaga Episode I so much. *totally loves that game*

I always loved seeing parody characters in games. Either the good ones for appreciation or the bad ones to laugh at (no offense to anyone but there are some really bad character recreation jobs).

In PSO I made a few parody characters. I made a RAmarl named Leona, and she looks almost exactly like Leona from King of Fighters. I also made Soma Cruz from Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Vyse from Skies of Arcadia, but they don't look nearly as much like the original characters as Leona does. PSU's character creation is going to be awesome for parody characters, but I like my first two or three characters to be completely original.

I can't get into characters based on someone else's creativity.

I made a character once, back in DC v1, based on a FF character (because a friend of mine asked me too). I played it up to lv66 but never did get into it.

I make up my own stories and backgrounds for my characters, though I rarely rp... unless with people that I'm relaxed with and even then not super deep rp'ing, just light 'in character' stuff to make the game a bit more fun. My characters' stories are mostly for my own imagination and fun.
