Just wanted to say Hi. I have never played any of the Phantasy Star online games and am really looking forward to trying this out on the 360. I have played many mmo's and this particular style has me anxiously waiting.

How did you here of this game?

I will say this PSU is not like your traditonal MMO games it's very different. To me it's alot more fun and can be less time consuming then MMOs. It's also alot easier to get in and out unlike MMOs were sometimes you feel you must stay online to help your ls/guild. The areas where you fight in are alot smaller then MMOs but the combat is where the game really does it for me I love playing this type of game.

Welcome to the forums, we've got fun 'n' games.

*ahem* Feel free to ask any PSU questions you may have (as long as its not about PSU working on dialup http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif") (no offense xenokai)

How did I hear about it?
Various Podcasts and video game news sites.

The combat is what has me interested. Last MMO I played was City of Heroes/Villains for about two years. What I liked about that game was it was 95% fast combat and you didn't have to dedicate your life to the game just to progress. From what I can tell this game should fulfill my Online Rpg fix and won't put me to sleep

Thanks for the warm welcome!

This is what I like about PSO, myself. I tried really hard to like World of Warcraft but I just felt like it was a never-ending rat race where I'm constantly sucking no matter how hard I try. With PSO (and hopefully PSU as well) I always felt like I was doing good and kicking ass, even if I actually sucked. It's a more rewarding game.

Good choice coming to this game and hello... The chat and combat of PSO/PSU just hammers what's available on the PC in the online RPG category. You're gonna love it. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

Welcome to the boards and welcome to Phantasy Star. I too was a PS rookie back when the DreamCast version came out, but I quickly adapted.

Look forward to seeing you on the 360, home to the wonderful XBL, make sure you stop by the Xbox 360 thread and post a character name and your Gamertag once you decide what you want to be.

Welcome fella...

hmm... just to set a point here... the PSO titles (including PSU) are time-consuming MMOs because you won't be able to stop playing it. I played FFXI for 2 years and PSO for about 1 year back then... the main difference is that you don't feel ''obligated'' to play Phantasy Star and you actually enjoy playing it for hours and hours and hours.

If you like the game, I bet that the disk will stay in your 360 for a loooong time...

Welcome, and with that, thats interesting, I was slaving over City of Villains since its october release of last year up until a couple months ago. Sadly, the combat system didnt last as long as PSO did for me http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/icon_razz.gif

If I would have known this community gave such a warm reception to newcomers I would have made an introduction thread also. http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif

Welcome to the forums/community friend. Like you, I haven't played any previous Phantasy Star games but I'm really looking forward to Universe. Several years of FFXI has finally taken its toll on me. Time to move on to a new game/community and make some new friends and, of course, ruin my real life...again.

Dunno, the game really appealed to me at the time. What really kept me playing though was the people that I met and played with. I got lucky and fell into an amazing group of people, each of them amazingly talented at the game and as an individual. We used to HNM on a regular basis but all of us kind of got burned out on it. Dynamis is still a weekly event though. I still log in sometimes but I use it only as a chatroom now, and occasionally help some of the new members out with things.
