Go buy a controller. It's either keyboard or controller, and keyboard is terrible.

Yeah...the keyboard is a serious pain...if you are a ranger, you will REALLY want to get a control. For me (dont know about anyone else), I cant strafe and shoot at the same time; the fire key and the lockon key lock out each other. Could change the buttons around...but why do that when I have a control (PS1 analog stick, planning on a get a USB for Gamecube controller).

I've attempted the keyboard controls and though I've played many-a-PC games over the years, the keyboard controls for this game just don't feel that intuitive to me at all. Downright sloppy in all honesty no matter how it was configured.

Get a good gamepad. I suggest either a Saitek P2500 Rumble Force or to an even greater extent an XBOX 360 controller and set them up to your own liking in the game's configuration menu.

I believe the reason why the keyboard is so terrible on this game is because it was designed from the ground up to be a console game. FFXI is the same way. I couldn't stand playing that game with the keyboard.

Get a controller.

You can use the Xbox 360 controller with the computer? How, which one do you use and can you use? I'm assuming the non cordless remote. How do you set that up, is it pretty much plug and play? Really interested, looking for a remote for my PSU when it comes out in the states, thank you http://www.pso-world.com/images/phpbb/icons/smiles/anime1.gif pls help.

You can use either the wired or wireless 360 controller. For the wireless one, you'll need a receiver, obviously. If you don't already own one, go pick up a wired one. Then you'll need a driver for it. The default Windows one is teh suk. Get your hands on the XBCD 360 driver.

i was thinking of using a PS2 controller, I found a USB adapter for it "http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=160&products_id=3833&"
Is this the right one? Do I also need a driver for the PS2 controller? Which one would you guys prefer PS2 or 360 Controller? Thanks again everyone.

I believe that is the correct one, very similar to my USB PS1 adaptor. About the 360 or PS2 controller...*runs upstairs to try out his brother's 360* Both are very nice...only thing i dont like about the 360 controll is the back buttons, but thing again...I dont play XBox. So I will just say PS2 since Im use to it.

I use a Logitech gamepad (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/BR/EN,CRID=2225,CONTENTID=9069) and so far I have no complaints. Pretty good controller all around for PSOBB.

If you already have a PS2 controller, save your money and get that adapter. Judging from the description, it's just plug and play.

I use the xbcd drivers for my 360 gamepad. Works like a charm.

I'm pretty sure that somebody out there doesn't mind the keyboard controls. More power to them, but I honestly don't see the point in trying to struggle with it since you can get adapters for console gamepads ($10-20) or normal run of the mill gamepads for the PC ($10-30) that handle the job nicely.

If your keyboard can register more than 2 simultaneous keystrokes, then go for it. I found it impossible to strafe with the pistol since it required three keys to be pressed at once, and my keyboard sucks ass.
